I sense a riot in the near future.
I just looked it up, and yes they deorbit the satellites, but their re-entry orbit takes up to six months. So speeding that up does seem advantageous.
As far as I'm aware, yes. Maybe the article meant they could use less fuel to do so?
The headline is pretty misleading. The solar maximimum lowers their time in orbit by up to ten days. The article also mentions that this is beneficial to SpaceX as it means the end of life satellites will re-enter faster, getting them out of the way for their replacements.
I have never enjoyed Adam Conover. He's like Penn Jillette but even more insufferable and less funny, which is a triumph in both respects. But unlike Penn Jillette, Adam has always seemed disingenuous to me. So I'm not particularly surprised to see him shilling crypto, and not particularly surprised to see him backpedal for dear life. It is weird to hear him keep calling himself a comedian. I genuinely didn't know that's what he saw himself as.
The text on the left is legible and from what I make out says Kaizer Chiefs, a South African sports team. Most commonly used AI wouldn't be that good at text in context.
We all know that a giant seawall will be erected at some point. And of course it will be at the expense of the poor to protect the wealthy. Maybe they can turn the poorer neighborhoods into beachfront property.
I did a deep dive not too long ago on the JFK assassination and what struck me the most is how both the conspiracy theorists and the conspiracy debunkers all seem to take for granted that the police were good at taking and collating witness testimony. Seeing that person X changed their story or person Y's story doesn't align with Z's is only compelling if there's a competent person gathering this information.

This is even better when you realize that it's the same image, just cropped differently.
They really have to come up with more and more excuses to think about Hunter's hog don't they?
