Paying around 300€/MWh in germany ...
But also we have well insulated houses, so its not that bad (i think). I am paying around 100 bucks for electricity and gas for one person.
And all that only with massive state funding, impressive.

Edit: bei der Herstellung von 6 Liter Diesel werden 42 kWh Energie verbraucht. Bei einem Heizwert von 9,8kWh pro Liter, also 58,8 kWh auf 6 Liter. Heißt fast die gesamte Energie wird eh anders verbraucht um den Brennstoff herzustellen.
Da Ottomotoren eh nur 30-35% Effizienz haben geht in dem einen schritt schon das verloren, was bei elektrischen Fahrzeugen nach mehreren wandlungsschritten erst verloren ist. Ich glaube kaum, dass sich das durch effiziente Herstellung ausgleichen lässt, zumal Ottomotoren schon sehr ausgereift sind.

I live in Germany, nothing happened. So this is barely news.
New technologies will sometimes need more energy. Thats hardly news. If we continue yo switch to renewables the impact will also be small. AI isnt even listed as its own point, heck it is not even listed in most energy budgets, yet it sounds like there will be no energy left for the rest, which is laughable, since it likely uses around 1% of the energy needed (its estimated at 2% for it in general)
