Trump wanted to deport Haitans to Mexico. You're not getting a free ride to Ireland. Hope you like tequila.
For me, it was the days and weeks after Jan 6th, when it became clear that outright insurrection, a violent coup, was not going to spark a course correct.
The republican party should have shattered. The non-fascists should have woken up, and fought with MAGA, and years later, a viable political party rise from the ashes.
But that didn't happen. A few conscientious dissenters fell on their swords, most at retirement age anyway. Fascism took over completely. And the American people ate it up.
Weeks after Jan 6th, it was clear that consequences were not coming. They took their mask off, and no one cared, or couldn't stop them.
And here we are. Convicted felon with absolute power on his way to the Whitehouse, who owns the SCOTUS, Senate, and likely the House.
Trump will have unchecked power to do whatever he damn well pleases.
Way to fucking go, America. I fucking hate my countrymen.
Possibly benefit from some brain drain too
Don't worry, he'll live comfortably with himself because all the bad things MAGA will do in the next 4 years and beyond will be the Dems fault. No self reflection or personal accountability will occur.
Don't forget misogyny
Eh. The local elections are pretty hard to find good information. Candidates and ballot measures.
It's hard to even find any kind of real debate outside of their written statements, which seem extremely misleading.
Edit - but at least the vote tallying makes sense
Not a problem. They lose one voter (if the conviction sticks) and strengthen the fanaticism of their victimization narrative. To them, that says that the deep state just covers up for the antifa, and suppresses their voice.
I hear Tar and Feathering traitors was all the rage back in the founding father days.
Altho I could make an exception. Barack would tear him a new one in a ~~celebrity~~ former potus death match
All right, Texan Republicans. You have your moderately attractive blond white girl sacrifice to rally behind. You can do something about this now.
Contrary to our stereotype, the vast majority of Americans don't resort to gun violence or the threat of gun violence to get what they want.
The gravy seals you see on TV are just cos playing and would turn tail and run if they ever really had to put it all on the line. Or even if the local police simply didn't enable them.
I thought the Harris campaigns ads to encourage female voters in red counties was incredibly demeaning.
"What happens at the polls stays at the polls"
I'm male, but I cringed hard at those ads.
I wonder if the had good reception at focus groups or something. Maybe it really did play well, I don't know. But it made it seems like women were too weak to own their opinions or vote.
