I had a cat that did this. His name was Binx and he had to have teeth pulled so he would almost always have his tongue out like this. Loved that cat.

There is also rumor and a federal investigation into whether he was actually shot because he is not missing any portion of his ear where he was supposedly shot based on a photo of his ear taken 2 days later. Gun shots don't magically heal within 2 days.
You definitely underestimate the narcissism of parents. My dad votes for policies that hurt this country and his children. He votes for Republicans that are against women's rights and trans rights and want to defund support for struggling children in schools. He does not deserve more votes than I do. I'm a socially isolated person with no children and I really don't care to be around children, but I still vote for their future. Parents do not deserve more votes.
So you wanna be blindsided by war then? I'm not saying that it'll happen, but ignoring the politics of neighboring countries is ignorant. You don't have to follow everything all the time, but being aware of politics around you is still healthy. If you need an example, gaza vs israel and ukraine vs russia. The US is in turmoil and that affects other countries as much as the US.
