Hello, I have a rather complicated need to use a gre tunnel and I am having difficulty getting it working. The tunnel is between my home server and Oracle VM. Below is a picture of the topology with config.

Pings between the home server and Oracle VM over the gre tunnel do not seem to be going through as evidenced by tcpdump. I do notice however that the firewall has the correct state table showing that address translation. I am certain that both machines' firewalls are not dropping packets because iptables is not showing anything dropped. I am at a loss here so I welcome any ideas.

I wouldn't do this if I were you because any of your activity can be traced back to you via your credentials.

rDNS is something that is not set up by your domain registrar. It's set up by your ISP or cloud VM provider.

All it is going to take for AI to go away is when it makes a serious mistake that injures or kills a patient. The wrongful death and negligence lawsuits would be in the high millions or even more if it is a young child. In my opinion, AI is a very bad idea. I would sooner put my trust in a human being than AI. I can see AI being a tool to assist a doctor in making a diagnosis, but certainly not to replace doctors or reduce their numbers.

I am kind of - no, I am really - anti-capitalist. In some evil sort of way, if the hospital 'boss' decides to replace enough medical professionals with AI and robots and this causes a patient to die from inadequate care, then not a small part of me believes that the hospital boss should pay with their own life. Yeah, I have an anger management problem when it comes to the wealthy.

Great tool! Thank you for creating and sharing it!

I don't know of one specifically for clothing but I know of a great ERP free open source software called ERPnext. This could easily work for you.

That's truly all it is! There is nothing of value that can be learned on LinkedIn. It's bootlickers dry humping the wealthy.

That's a real shame but it says a lot about the motivations of politicians and the fear they have of education. If I ran my own school, I'd be reaching out to him to hire him.

If I had a LinkedIn account, they could have at it. LinkedIn is capitalist pr0n.

The women that can rock short hair make it look very sexy!

NVIDIA is going to be its achilles heel unfortunately.

I just looked on the instance list and my instance is no longer listed. Does this mean I have been blocked? I just upgraded to 0.18.4. Thanks in advance.

I know this has probably been asked before but I am currently using Arch and wondering if my choice is the best for gaming. What are the thoughts from the community? I have an AMD Ryzen 7 processor with 64 gigs of RAM and a decent AMD GPU. Gaming seems to be okay on Arch but I am wondering if I've overlooked something better. Thank you in advance.

ARM64 for the masses (lemmy.goblackcat.com)

Hey! Does anybody have any information about if and when a company might offer ARM64 for general desktop use? I would like to build my own in the same way that I might build a desktop PC out of an Intel or AMD processor.

I'm looking for a recommendation on a full bluetooth headset, not earbuds. I would prefer if it had the boom style protruding microphone and that it would support an easily replaceable battery. I am sick of discarding bluetooth headsets due to battery problems as it's not environmentally friendly. Does one exist in the sub-80 dollar range? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Poor troubleshooting on my part. I missed the part in the dmesg about missing the firmware. I installed the firmware through AUR and everything works as it should. I need to be better than this .....

Okay, so I am ready to tear my hair out over this one. I've followed the Arch wiki to the letter and none of my devices are being discovered. The dmesg command shows my internal bluetooth adapter and blueberry recognizes the adapter. What gives? I don't know where to go to troubleshoot from here. Any ideas are welcome.

Lately I have been hearing the term "cognitive dissonance" being used a fair amount. I am checking my understanding of it so please bare with me and feel free to correct me if I am wrong. My understanding of the term is that it refers to someone who continues to hold on to their core beliefs despite overwhelming incontrovertible evidence that their beliefs are patently wrong.

Hello fellow self-hosters. Is it possible to use NGINX as a proxy for an IMAP service where the IMAP server is located on a different host? I have a cloud VPS running NGINX which is connected to my home network via a WireGuard tunnel. What I would like to do is run the IMAP server (Dovecot) in my own network and have NGINX proxy the connection. I have tried doing searches based on this but the examples don't show how to specify the IMAP server for the connection to be redirected to for the lack of a better phrase. I know streaming is possible. Would this be the way to do?

I would love an example to go on. Thanks very much!

[SOLVED] New Lemmy Admin (lemmy.goblackcat.com)

EDIT: With thanks to u/code@lemmy.mayes.io, I have a solution for cleaning up the one table that is growing ridiculously in size and that is the activity table. A TRUNCATE activity; command cleaned that right up. A word of caution is in order because the Lemmy instance must be shutdown completely and only the postgres container running if you're using docker.

As a new Lemmy admin, I think I really need to learn PostgreSQL administration because I need a way to keep my database from ballooning in size and there are no management tools built yet for it. Would someone be so kind as to recommend a good website for learning PostgreSQL? This would also help me maintain my mastodon instance.
