Don't think it's intentional. It's challenging to try to take a better picture of a bag of shit

"You can commit crimes and be rewarded with huge political and financial windfalls by actively encouraging disinformation that literally kills the people whose survivors will immediately turn around and vote for you to pick their pockets again" seems to be the lesson learned.

America's first recorded covid death was in Feb 2020. The trajectory of this looming new pandemic threat doesn't feel great.

Seconded for manjaro. It's the only distro I tried recently (fedora, endeavor, Ubuntu, opensuse) that got the Nvidia drivers correct right away without any trouble. Solid distro

All those "red lines" turned out to be an amateurish sales tactic. Disgraceful and unforgivable actions from beginning to end. Trump will be a horror, but Biden deserves a place in the hall of Presidential Monsters somewhere next to Jackson.

America's Gini Index is worse than what France's was before the Revolution*.

*Economic Historians will argue because we don't have the best data then compared with what we have today.

A few years ago, I devoured the Ascendant series by K Arsenault Rivera. Basically a soft magic universe based on Mongolian and Chinese mysticism set in a different world, but the parallels are pretty obvious. The main focus is the sapphic romance between the two leads, but It does a good job of mixing world building, epic battles and military maneuvers, demons and magic, and relationships. I highly recommend it.

Trying to imagine having a worse take on decolonisation.

AP is now reporting gas canisters and fireworks were stuffed in truck. I still feel like waiting for evidence instead of reacting is a good lesson to take from the explosion expert. We are going to have A LOT of events like this in 2025 with a fascist actively encouraging stochastic terrorism in charge. We need to find a way to understand in a way that won't drive us insane.

I asked a retired EOD mate and he kinda shrugged and said not to trust any of the knee jerk takes until a forensics team has had a chance to investigate. Explosions happen faster than your eyes can see and anything at this point is just a guess.

'Terrorist' is a label only for crimes that do not give the ruling class a hard on.

I found it interesting that people are filming a bright, glowing thing seemingly intentionally designed to be visible at night and think, "SPY drone."
