Amazon does not make any profit from their books. They are able to sell them cheaply because they sell them at a loss. They weren't even profitable for a long time and maintained thanks to investors. Basically, Bezos sold the idea of the future of his store's worth. And it worked.

It took me a while to figure out. Like I knew Southerners can be mean and judgy, but I didn't think about how until I traveled to other places and saw how much more straightforward people are. It's nice when kindness is kindness and there's no underlying meaning.

Lexus cars. Every time some terrible driving is happening around me, it is one of them. That commercial where the lexus driver drives over the man's papers just solidified what sort of asshole drives those cars.
