Nein, hör mich aus: 6 ist eine gerade Zahl. Gerade Zahlen haben keinen eindeutigen Median und damit ist jeder Tag entweder vor oder nach der Mitte. Einen Mittwoch im heutigen Sinne gäbe es nicht mehr und da sowieso ein Tag gestrichen werden muss...
Die Übersee Angelsachsen machen das so, dass der Sonntag zur nächsten Woche zählt. Ich würde sagen, dass Mittwoch die Mitte der Arbeitswoche ist und passt es auch

Unpopuläre Meinung: 6 Tage sind mir lieber als 7, wenn es bei 2 Tagen Wochenende bleibt. Ich würde den Mittwoch streichen, weil der Name dann eh nicht mehr passt. Den Mittwochsfrosch können wir dann auf Dienstag verschieben
