Not sure about the colonial mindset or the caste practices of centuries but Indian culture is extremely hierarchial in almost all facets of life. Elders, seniors, higher officials, etc all expect to be respected even if it is just one year difference, etc.

One of the ways to show respect it to not use names and call as sir, madam, teacher, officer or at best elder brothers/sisters for college seniors. All this works well in the regional languages of India but sounds weird in English.

Directly calling names of elders is still seen as bad and if needed would use their name appended with sir madam uncle aunt etc.

This is less practiced in IT field in my experience. After years of schooling and college calling my teachers sir and maam it was hard to shake off the habit. A few of my managers had to remind me a bunch of times to call them by their name and not as sir / maam in the beginning. Even then I avoidedcallintg out their names and just started speaking to get their attention. Now I almost call everyone by name by default in office setting. It is still fun when freshers join and are asked to use names of 15+ year elders and them wondering if we are joking.

I guess killing off millions does save the planet some pollution. But thats not a very ideal way of pollution control, is it?

Seems nice but has no folder or organisational feature. Seems its just a large dump of photos.

Sync is not a no go rather something I dont mind if not present.

The phone I want this for is on A11 and my work phone. I dontfknow if I am missing to enable folder level permissions for apps but many apps Iave doseea all pictures or videos have.

The most isolation IhVave seen is use files within signal or telegram and those dont show up unless I save to gallery.

What are some good encrypted gallery android apps?

Currently using Stingle Photos. While it has a solid encryption its too basic in terms of gallery features. I just have basic single level folders currently and its very hard to manage the photos like that.

What are your suggestions for a good gallery app that is encryption/security oriented but also has good gallery features. Particularly nested folders, some sort or easy search function. If it has tagging it would be excellent.

I dont use sync or cloud features nor do I use GPhotos so such functionality does matter to me.

Do you mean deleted the torrent entry from client or the data files?

If just the entry you can add the torrent and set it to discover the existing data directory. Steps might vary by client.

If you meant seed deleted data, AFAIK its not possible to seed data that you dont have. No idea why you expect that to be possible.

I did. It was quite funny listening to just the lyrics. Would have been nice if they managed to keep the original vocals but that whispering voice made it funnier.

fixed by @skullgiver : it was an entry in /etc/crypttab.

Thanks for all the help everyone. This was an awesome experience.

I don't know how stupid this was to do but many articles suggested it should be fine.

I resized my mouted root partition. Showed a bunch of warnings on resizing a mounted drive but it worked. Also did a sudo resize2fs /dev/sdaX to complete it.

Went from: winEFI, Win11, EFI, root, swap, data1, data2, win-recovery

To : winEFI, Win11, EFI, root, new-data1, win-recovery

But now every boot takes an additional 60-90 seconds with a blank screen. Pressing ESC shows the above log.

I am unsure of how to fix this or even what caused this. The root partition still starts from the same and only grew to right. Is this because of the deleted swap ?

The operations were performed via GParted but I followed this : https://askubuntu.com/questions/24027/how-can-i-resize-an-ext-root-partition-at-runtime

PS: Pop 22.04 Nvidia. Relatively fresh (~3mo) install but severely miscalculated how much size I needed.

Indian criminal laws being replaced many supposedly in response to recent violence but covers a lot more.

My primary observation is it heavily undermines freedom of speech criminalizes more vague blanket activities.

One prior complaint about Indian laws were it primarily protected women. As a departure from that, some of the new laws punishes a gender neutral manner but still only considers women as victims.

I am eager to see how this plays out and received by the public. Atleast for now, many are teeing these as focusing on religious lines and possibly along caste.
