Since what, a week now I guess, this comm "Buy European" has been spamming posts on my All feed. A few are actual useful posts like lists of alternatives to US companies and services, but the majority I just ignore.

And now it is coming to this point? Like, really? This is infuriating, fuck Europe.

Not only that but most comments calling the post out are either barely upvoted or heavily downvoted, while it's pretty clear that most people commenting genuinely thinks this is a good idea.

And the cherry on top are the comments upset at the "tankies".

How the fuck can these crackers look at a post wanting Europe to become a superpower again knowing damn well the history of Europe, and also knowing how the far right is currently rising to power there yet again, then not only agree with it, but also just decide to antagonize the communists instead of the fascists rising to power right now?

I'm not one to go calling people fascists, but fuck if my hitler particles detector is not going off the charts right now.

Sorry for venting out, this is the type of shit that makes my blood boil.

Does anybody know what VPNs Chinese people use? Will be in China for an extended period of time so I'm gonna need it

Aside from a few feeds that I'm subscribed to for personal hobbies/interests, the rest of what I have are just mainstream English western media feeds that I keep around to keep my finger on the pulse.

This makes the prospect of looking at my feeds feel quite 'doom-scrolly' though.
I would like to populate it with feeds that I would actually be interested in reading in regards to news breaking and analysis of current happenings.

Any recommendations, ideas, even feeds for things other than news, etc.? Anything you would like to share with the community is more than welcome.

To put into perspective, in Vietnam, 12 eggs cost only $1.22 maximum (this is considered expensive).

What is the median American income btw?

I'm going to ask my psychiatrist for a med that treats trauma. I've been having these daily flashbacks since, I don't know, 2010? Time to take charge. Time to say that I'm worth it.

In addition, I will get a sleep apnea oral appliance so I can treat my sleep apnea without the damn CPAP machine that I can't get to work at all.

In addition, I'm going to see if I have a chance, or do have, AFib or Atrial Fibrillation. My heart acts funny.

I will get through this, even if the next few months see me self-destructing with the stuff I'm about to do soon enough.

(I'm going to attempt something, and if I'm not successful, or I was wrong about the situation, then I'll let it go. Forever.)

Sorry, just pumping myself up for the next few months, and giving myself a good kick in the ass to get myself out of this rut of grief.

I'm thinking of using a med to treat C-PTSD.

I have daily traumatic flashbacks.

How do I get rid of this?

I made a post weeks ago about all the trouble I've been having with my prescriptions, the doctors and pharmacists complaining that I'm costing the NHS too much money and trying to reduce the amount and quality of my meds, not on health grounds, but purely on cost grounds, and the detrimental effect it was having on my health. Also being bullied into taking contraception, which I don't want or need.

I received help on here writing a letter to the GP, trying to get them to stop bullying me over contraception and give me the meds I need in the quantities I need. I just heard back from them, and the letter worked! They will continue to prescribe my migraine meds without insisting I take contraception, they will increase my dose of my other med to daily instead of trying to fob me off with only 8 a month, and they will go back to giving me enough eczema treatment.

Thanks so much for the help!

I was feeling pretty anxious all of last week because I had my first appointment with my welfare case worker today. If you've been following my posts you know why this is complicated for me. It's not just the welfare appointments as well, they normally want you to open an unemployment file as well, and both of these give you monthly appointments every month. On top of all the doctors appointments I have to schedule and the problems I have that make it difficult to do too much in a week.

Thankfully my case worker was super nice and understanding. I explained my health problems (that the doctors say are not health problems), and she basically instantly waived the unemployment requirement and told me to focus on my health. I do have an appointment with her at the end of april to keep her updated, but this is manageable. she also asked if I preferred the afternoons and I said yes so I can manage my medication better (I had to wake up at 6am this morning just for the anti-emetics, and chose not to take the stomach acid inhibitor because I have to eat 1 hour after taking it. I can do that, but only for one day at a time).

That's a huge load off my mind at least and I feel this rollercoaster is finally stabilizing. I have an apt with my therapist next week. I was yelling at her in my post last week but honestly the rest of the time she's perfectly fine. It just bothers me that despite being a doctor she can't prescribe me anything or make a certificate for anything. But they have their specialty and don't/can't stray from it.

The week after that I have the apt at the new hospital for a second opinion, and that's basically my month of march lol. I can only do like one thing per week, maybe 2 if I'm having an especially good week (but you never know if it's a good week until it's next week), so it helps just being able to space these things out and that's what I was worried about. There's still a lot of work ahead for me, including actually fixing these symptoms lol, but at least things are progressing in some way.

So I've been taking chinese classes recently for obvious reasons, and yesterday we had to talk about our families, parents and their jobs.

Firstly, I felt really embarrassed about just having 吗吗和我 (my mom and me) in my immediate family, while everyone else had mom's and dad's and siblings. I know why I felt sad during that, cause I hate being reminded that I know my moms subsequent boyfriends more than I know my dad. Plus I feel spoiled for being an only child (独生子) but at the same time hating the consequences of being lonely and having to be an emotional support son for my mom.

Secondly, when talking about professions, everyone else's parents were doing the expected things. Doctors (医生), lawyers (律师) and casino/bank managers (赌场/银行经理). My mother is just a simple warehouse worker (仓库工人).

It's like...I don't know. I don't know if it's just me feeling like Im spoiled or ungrateful for going to college instead of working or going to trade school, or if I feel like my family is a failure, or what.

There's not a lot of point to this post. I just feel really...ashamed of myself and I don't know why

I will be visiting Paris soon and am looking for places to do some socialist sight-seeing. This could be anything from museums on the history of the French worker’s movement (especially interested in the Paris Commune), statues of famous (French) Socialists or even a commie pub. Hit me with your best recommendations <3

I've tried using deepseek (first time I've ever used an LLM, so maybe I'm being dumb) to help me a little with designing some circuit because my reference book was leaving out a LOT of crucial information.

The results have been ... subpar. The model seems to be making quite elementary mistakes, like leaving floating components with missing connections.

I'm honestly kinda disappointed. Maybe this is a weak area for it. I've probably had to tell deepseek more about designing the circuit in question than it has told me.

Edit: I realised I was just being dumb, since LLMs aren't designed for this task.

Hello comrades! This is my first post here, so apologies if I didn't do a proper introduction...

I just want to know more about the topic specified above, and also so that I don't accidentally subscribe to that mindset.

Ideally, in the so-called "free world", we should leave the choice of contributing to a collective or private insurance plan to the citizen :

  • If an individualist prefers a private insurance, then so be it, s·he won't have to contribute to the collective ;
  • If a socialist wants to pay for the community instead, then s·he should be able to contribute to, a'd benefit from, a public insurance instead.

Apparently, we're not given this choice mainly because of the adverse selection : private insurances are cheaper when you're young, while public ones are cheaper when you're old. This would make people subscribe to private insurances at first, and then switch to public ones later, which would cause the subscription costs of the latter to increase a lot.
That's why Germany allows the wealthy who took a private insurance to stop contributing to the public one, however they can't switch back to the public insurance past 55 years old.

If adverse selection is the only reason not to give citizens a choice between public//private insurances, then the solution seems obvious, we only have to ask those who switch back to public insurance to pay for the contributions they missed(, minus the estimated costs that the public system avoided).

In almost every country, citizens are either forced to contribute to the public system of insurances, or there's no public protection and they're forced to subscribed to private ones if they can afford to.
I doubt that what i proposed is the solution to offer a freedom to citizens of any country, because it's so easy that governments would have already thought about it, but i don't understand what 'mistake i made'/'i missed', perhaps that some people of Lemmygrad could shed some light on this for me ?

Of course, it'd be forbidden not to have an insurance, you'd have to choose between private or public.
Otherwise, in a country without mandatory healthcare, the poor would struggle to get healthcare and, i.m.o., the wages would be reduced to the new minimum in order to maximize profits.

I suppose that the main problem would be that, in their old age, some people would be unable to continue paying for private insurances and also to pay for the missed public contributions. But that'd probably be an exception that wouldn't weight too much on the budget of a last-resort public coverage ?

I wanted to share this rant which was sparked because of some anti abortion thing that got lots of replies.

Many of the replies opted to have the right to abortion written into the constitution and call it a day.

Your constitution does not, in any way, actually protect you from evil intentions. Hitler wasn't stopped by laws and he killed millions of people eventually. You have to actively recognize the danger and organize to crush it.

I saw a post about Firefox has been going downhill in terms of privacy protection, and figured it was time to take some action. I saw LibreWolf was a decent alternative, but wanted to go all the way and get my laptop off Mac OS while I was at it. So, after some difficulties, I installed Debian Linux and am writing my first post that's not from Jerboa on my phone!

A few years back (2-4 idk) there was a telegram group for GenZedong, but it was taken over by some weird imperialists that completely renamed the group etc and started called China anticommunist etc. Why did this happen and is there a new group anywhere for chatting, or were they all taken down with the new EU/US/GB legislations over the past years?

Apparently Canada’s sovereignty is at risk.

This is not surprising for my school because if you’re familiar with my posts you’ll recall the neo-Nazi library display I shared around a year ago.

This flyer is definitely not an official university poster as it’s not the same size or paper quality. Someone random must have put it up, they’re either a lone wolf or part of the “Ukraine club” at my school.

My day was already pretty shit but this is just annoying to see.
