The Dredge Tank. For posting all the low tier reactionary bullshit that you can't post anywhere else. Got some bullshit from Reddit with 2 upvotes and want to share, post it here.

This community was created with the purpose that Rule 8 fans will just block it.

The rules are literally The Dunk Tank's rules, just without rule 8.

Rule 1: All posts must include links to the subject matter, and no identifying information should be redacted.

Rule 2: If your source is a reactionary website, please use archive.is instead of linking directly.

Rule 3: No sectarianism.

Rule 4: TERF/SWERFs Not Welcome

Rule 5: No ableism of any kind (that includes stuff like libt*rd)

Rule 6: Do not post fellow hexbears.

Rule 7: Do not individually target other instances' admins or moderators.

If we're a troll farm we're pretty bad at it.

How many of y'all actually venture out of Local?

[–] Mindfury@hexbear.net 66 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

change filter to all instead of local
still sorted by hot
all results are hexbear

curious-marx

Our posting power remains enormous.

I certainly don't with any regularity lol

the majority of our interaction with other instances seems to be them wandering in here and getting mad at our takes.

[–] Frank@hexbear.net 23 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeh. It's either some lib wanders in and tries to start shit, some lib starts shit out in the 'verse and gets posted in the dunk tank when they go turbo racist, or... not that's it. That's pretty much it.

[–] Evilsandwichman@hexbear.net 43 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I don't even understand how this website works

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 28 points 2 weeks ago

monke-beepboop sometimes I forgor too

[–] quarrk@hexbear.net 43 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I go to All when I feel like seeing lame programming memes from 2010 Reddit

[–] MeowZedong@lemmygrad.ml 21 points 2 weeks ago

And Linux-based infighting?

[–] TheDoctor@hexbear.net 41 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

I default to All. It’s pretty dead ngl. I went over to .world assuming that because they’re a big instance that there would be content I hadn’t seen or was interesting that I couldn’t find here. Like maybe because they’re were bigger they had more activity in niche comms. Basically the Reddit effect. No such luck. Hexbear stays winning.

See I like science memes. All others are reasonable. I haven’t seen a single “non-political” meme that isn’t innately and obviously political to me. And the generative art gets spammed all at once.

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 30 points 2 weeks ago

. I haven’t seen a single “non-political” meme that isn’t innately and obviously political to me.

That's the neat part about "nonpolitical" memes. They are political. think-mark

[–] sovietknuckles@hexbear.net 20 points 2 weeks ago

I blocked science memes when they had overtaken my front page, otherwise I like them. But it's been awhile and they deserve another go, I unblocked them

[–] Frank@hexbear.net 15 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Are we still federated with dbzer0? I thought we had some thing with them a while back.

[–] AcidSmiley@hexbear.net 30 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

AFAIK we're still federated, but their admins are banned on here. In the case of Unruffled, he waltzed into the thread about whether we should defederate from his instance, was a horrible debatebro and pulled an "as a gay man, i don't think it's homophobic when you use gay as a synonym for bad and effeminate" to defend one of their banned users. He's an assimilationist respectability politics loser and it's hillarious that somebody calling himself Unruffled is obviously still malding about being kicked out of our treehouse almost a year later.

[–] Hexboare@hexbear.net 21 points 2 weeks ago

Unruffled because they stress plucked out all their feathers thinking about hexbear

[–] Frank@hexbear.net 7 points 2 weeks ago

That is very funny.

[–] mathemachristian@hexbear.net 18 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah we banned their admins but kept the instance

[–] buh@hexbear.net 31 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I browse all but sometimes I refrain from commenting if I notice the domain isn't hexbear or lemmygrad because I'm not in the mood to argue with humorless libs

[–] GenderIsOpSec@hexbear.net 21 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

same tbh, sometimes you just want to start shit if only to see how many downvotes you can farm

deep-nesting

[–] Frank@hexbear.net 8 points 2 weeks ago

Taste the rainbow.

Oh no the rainbow tastes like violence.

Delicious rainbow.

(Painbow?)

[–] Yukiko@hexbear.net 29 points 2 weeks ago

Not a chance. Fuck those other instances not lemmygrad

[–] Frank@hexbear.net 28 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Pretty much never unless someone posts a link in dunk tank or something. I don't want to talk about stocks, sports, or do racisms so there's not much incentive to leave.

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 20 points 2 weeks ago

We're a clearly well-oiled troll farm though! Trust the lemmy libs on this one!

[–] AcidSmiley@hexbear.net 27 points 2 weeks ago

My experience on the site has improved massively since i've set my feed to Local only.

[–] SuperNovaCouchGuy2@hexbear.net 21 points 2 weeks ago

How many of y'all actually venture out of Local?

Never.

My hate for nu-reddit eclipses my desire to search for obscure hentai so I avoid other instances like the plague + im too lazy to check grad.

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 18 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Rarely. Used to be on Lemmy.ml but like it here more.

I used to have an account on blahaj but i got so fed up with the general federated lemmy users and a few of the blahaj users (not ada though, she's cool imo) that i just abandoned that account and came over here full time

[–] OgdenTO@hexbear.net 17 points 2 weeks ago

Never. Well, rarely, but I always regret it.

Like twice. Shit sucks.

[–] Aradina@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 week ago

I'm on .ml and basically only browse my subscribed feed. Local and all are horrifyingly toxic and worst of all, unfunny.

[–] barrbaric@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago

I always set sort to All but because we're the most active by a landslide it's still basically just local. Sometimes there are announcements from other instances, but that's about it. (I did block some low-effort meme comms).
