i've looked through the screenshots/artwork before, and as a lesbian himejoshi ML this feels kinda blasphemous.
not because it's yuri or the fact that stalin and lenin are cute girls; but because how stalin and lenin have been portrayed as a character.
for one, i feel like it should be the other way around - stalin falling for lenin, since that's what happened historically. stalin followed lenin. not the opposite.
also spoilers but (CW: Mentions of Han-ing)
one of the CGs involve "stalin" hanging "lenin" in a room full of other hanged women... for whatever reason... really repeating the lie that "stalin killed gajillions for funnies".
i like how the girls look, but honestly it just feels like they just made random ahhh girls, slapped the lenin-stalin name onto them, threw in a bunch of surface-level commie shit that libs think commies do and called it a day.
like, this is how i expect a female lenin to look like, not whatever that is.

one might argue that "it's not that deep", but i really wish people put a bit more effort before portraying historical figures and settings, to be at least a bit more accurate, instead of just making random girls with random traits and deciding "yup, they're lenin/stalin" somehow, despite having little connection other than the fact that they just read communist manifesto (and no other commie theory) all day and that they're wearing soviet-inspired uniforms... for some reason. even though i never seen lenin wear that ever.

I was just remembering that time after elon and grimes had just split up, where she did a photoshoot of herself reading the communist manifesto while cosplaying as and elf wearing the skyrim thieves guild armour, before declaring that "it was a troll!" and going back to making music about the inevitability of an AI god.
It was deeply unserious in a way that reminds me of this silly visual novel.
