Not Star Trek:

Kermit the Frog: a paragon of leadership, great outlook on life. My favorite celebrity

George Constanza: his wisdom has helped me through most professional environments. If you look annoyed people think you're busy etc is crucial life advice.

Columbo: An absolute icon of a human being. Everything I wanna be without being a cop.

Trek:

Plain Simple Garrak: great advice on how to bullshit and deal with bullshitters. It's all true, especially the lies

Can't you interpret the last 2 episodes of S3 as a reduction ad absurdum of the Dale Cooper character followed by a condemnation of the good natured hero? (not that that means he doesn't work as a role model but I think you're meant to be a bit critical)
