Try to get really really good at it
Then when you're confident you're pretty good go watch a YouTuber blow your sad ass out of the water
When I was in high school early 2000s I got a video on kazaa of a mario 3 speedrun in about 11 minutes and it was nuts. I tried to imitate the guy's run on an emulator and the jump he did over the piranha plant one second into the first level was almost impossible, I tried it like a hundred times and I did it successfully once. I gave up on that and moved onto the second level and it was basically the same experience, hitting the first two jumps to be perfect tiny hops so you've maxed your speed bar by the end of the pipe at the level start is absurdly hard.
