TIL genocide is a small policy difference for libs.

Did you really just learn this?

I’m saying from the perspective of American voters. And for them, yes, genocide in a faraway place is a small issue. If they’re even aware it’s happening at all.

But also, I don’t think the policy differences here are that impactful. I don’t see the US stopping the genocide without going to war, which I don’t see any appetite for from anyone.

As an American who voted third party instead of Kamala because of these kinds of policy's, (I don't mean to offend you) but I don't think you know what you're talking about.

I’m not offended—I always want to be aware of the possibility I’m getting it wrong. But your comment really doesn’t have any information or substance to support that possibility.

I think the population of leftists who ditched the democrats for a third party over Gaza is extremely small and had basically no impact. Are you saying you think Harris would have won if she took a more anti-Zionist stance here? And if so, why do you believe that?

That's a good outlook stranger and that's fair I didn't give you substance. I'll give you some now.

  1. Genocide is a small issue for American voters

There are lots of polls and ways to slice this but this tracks with what I see

[29% of voters nationally who voted for Biden in 2020 and cast a ballot for someone besides Kamala Harris in 2024 say “ending Israel’s violence in Gaza” was the top issue affecting their vote choice, with the economy a close second at 24%.](https://www.imeupolicyproject.org/postelection-polling)

Voter turn out went from 66.6% in 2020 to 63.9% in 2024. Well, this could be contributed to a lot of things. I think we'd be remiss not to consider that a large chunk of these were people who wouldn't vote for Kamala because of the genocide in Gaza.

Or what about the shower number of protests and protesters over the country? How many of these people changed their vote or didn't vote because the of the genocide? They obviously care? Source

Cared so much about saving Palestinians that they [checks notes] voted for extending the genocide to the West Bank and starting a few genocides at home too.

Good job.

Stop expecting the US to oppose genocide.

We're never going to oppose genocide.

Genocide is part of what built this country.
