I'm not defending it on the basis of it being legal, I don't think that's relevant here. It's enough that everyone involved was an adult and gave their willing consent.

People do things that cause them to suffer all the time, often in the pursuit of pleasure. We have neither the realistic means nor the moral authority to protect them from the consequences of their bad choices.

I'm not going to try and tell you that I wouldn't judge everyone involved for choosing to live their lives this way, because I definitely would, but coercing them with violence into making different choices would likely do little to to prevent the original harm and only add more on top of it.
