We are going to die. Our kids will die. Our partners are going to die. Our family is going to die. Our friends are going to die. Our pets are going to die. And, everyone who we ever knew and knew us is going to die. So ultimately all that is going to be left is the movement towards socialism and communism, and our mark is going to be what we did to further it even if people don’t remember it.

Yeah the west is doomed to be the last hold out against the inevitable tide of socialism.

The global south is looking at a fork in the path they can take into the future and on the one hand they see america's rotting cities with gang violence, drugs and unemployment on the other hand they see China with full employment, education, healthcare, robots and flying taxis. It's obvious what they will choose.

Meanwhile the people of west will cling to our privilege even as it turns to disadvantage. The majority will refuse to disbelieve the idealist bullshit we have been force fed as children until the decay and rot is so deep the only path forward will be to purge it with fire.

Socialists in the left are like Doomsday Preachers standing on the side of the road screaming "Repent for ~~the kingdom of heaven~~ Communism is nigh." and we will be treated with the same scorn. Buckle up my fellow Cassandras its all downhill from here.

As someone in the global south, the amount of pro capital propaganda makes me not sure this will happen. Even whatever left wing is here falls for "Chinese authoritarian, tinman massacre" BS. Heck, we have a "left wing" party in the executive right now, and what they have done to the economy is raise taxes on consumption and give more incentives to capitalists. There is a major digital colonization project to attract Big Tech data centers to steal our energy.

Also, social media is infested, overwhelmed with right wing BS. I know it's not an absolute measure of people's alignment, but it's a sign.

Also, Meta and Google just did an AI workshop with the extreme right party in Brazil. The amount of AI generated fake news and propaganda next election cycle makes me terrified.

Lies can't hold up against material reality. You think the usa is going to be able to keep pumping out that propaganda while China's economy is booming and americas is going backwards? You think your local bourgeoise is going to choose to work with neo-colonialist bullies when China is giving them a better deal? It might take another couple decades for the blinders to come off in some places but the contrast will be even more stark.
