im stuggling to put into words how pathetic it is that this much effort is being put into fetishizing the american flag to a bunch of people being oppressed by the american government. its just so, so stupid
If enough people really did feel that the American flag matters that much, this bot crap wouldn't be necessary.
Pretty much everytime I've seen it mentioned on the main subreddits they get downvoted and people say something like "lol fuck off, LA was Mexican first." This particular example of using the Mexico flag there is pretty hilarious to complain about and automatically marks the poster as being someone that doesn't know wtf they are talking about.

here in Canada, far-right protestors were super obnoxious with Canadian flags, stickers, and merch with all of their anti-vax, anti-healthcare, anti-government, anti-Trudeau, etc. bullshit steadily from 2020 to 2024. Practically overnight, when Trump announced the tariffs, they dropped that and every lib started putting canadian flags on everything they could in a pro-Canada 'protest'.
