He was given a literal month of advanced notice to do anything and managed to still act surprised when it got overturned. Democrats controlled the house and Senate when it got overturned in theory they could have passed a bill to codify it.

I don't even know why I bothered to comment. Apparently no one here knows how the government actually works.

I remember there were plenty of mainstream articles about steps Biden could take with his executive powers, that he never took, to work around this and provide abortion access to affected people, some even floated the idea of putting abortion clinics on military bases and other federal land. Where were the task forces, where was the bully pulpit, where was the fire to do anything but spout flaccid, meaningless platitudes? Maybe it’s because Biden himself is a catholic with a history of anti-choice stances, who planned to appoint an anti-choice judge to a lifetime appointment in Kentucky a day before Roe v Wade was overturned, but I’m not sure that incoherent sack of bones is the one driving the executive branch at this point so who knows. I blame the entire party. They could use their political and media leverage to push him to act, but they haven’t and they won’t, because abortion restrictions only affect the working class, and raising a stink about it would get in the way of their real priorities.

*and as GayActorMichaelDouglas said, it would set a precedent for Democrats meaningfully helping people. If they set that precedent, and show that action is possible, people are going to start asking for more improvements to their lives, improvements the donors don’t approve of. Better to maintain the illusion that they’re trying their best but that positive change, or even reversing negative change, is impossible.

Smol bean Joe Biden wants to ensure Americans have bodily autonomy, but the mean Supreme Court says he can’t powercry-1

No that's the problem we do.

When they want to do something they ram it through and ehn people complain they say "fuck you what are you gonna do about it" (tax cuts, anything republicans want, getting rid of roe)

When they dont actually want to do something they either make up bullshit excuses like some unelected obscure bean counter said no so we can't do it (budget reconcilliation) or if things get really dire they have just enough of them stop pretending to give a shit to stop whatever might happen (Lieberman, Manchin)

But as usual a dozen people all actually tried to explain and engage and good faith, and once again you completely ignored all of it and just insist "we don't know how government works"

Condescending lib piece of shit

Explain what? How you think government should work? ie. The president in this case should just pass the laws that I agree with. You folks are rancid.

You folks are rancid.

You made your account specifically to whine and cry at "you folks." You don't have to be here.

Republicans overturned Roe by legally manipulating the court. Biden refuses to legally manipulate the court to solve it. Case closed.
