Eh idk even if the US completely left, the decades of draconian anti-communism and persecution have an impact.

I think most people in both Koreas still want to reunify as a single nation. Idk how their political system would work though, and Japan wouldn't be happy about it.

It's not like it would be as simple as SK requesting annexation by the DPRK, but there are matters other than popular perception of liberalism vs socialism to consider.
