Constantly see people online talk about "when the robber comes thru my door" or whatever, and some of it is memes, but a lot of it is just people legit discussing what the "best weapon" to fight robbers breaking into your house at night would be - Giving it so much thought as if it is a legitimate concern. So is it? Does it happen a lot?

they're incredibly rare, and no thief is going to break into a house when there's a chance people would be inside (given everyone in the US has a gun). also, the media and gun manufacturers make money by making people afraid. so you have all these people that are terrified all the time, convinced they need a gun to defend themselves from woke BLM marxists, and they all fantasize about being able to legally kill someone.
