You know what the greatest absurdity is? Since he is Californian bourgeoisie royalty, Gavin actually knows where his bread is buttered, so he is really the driving force behind the normalization of U.S.-China relations, which is such an interesting analogy that the U.S. is basically a feudalist system masquerading as a democracy. We have to have a duke intervene on the central government's fuck-ups.

The Californian economy is so dependent on the Chinese and related Asia-Pacific markets remaining stable, and the Californian economy is one of the only driving forces for American economic growth, that they are able to be one of the only political forces to pierce though the miasma of D.C. politics.
