How to take photos like this! Also that this object exists and is easy to take photos of and a bunch of other stuff about astrophotography.

Now I need a way to russle up a few thousand dollars and some second hand equipment over the next few years. This shit is addictive.

I think hexbear might delete images that aren't uploaded in the comment? Was it that image stacking technique though?

It just hides the image, you find the image url with the view source button next to the upvote .

Ahh might be a lemmy thing i don't understand then, on my end reading your comment from hexbear.net shows * removed externally hosted image *.

It's hosted on dbzero since that's where I'm registered. I guess some policy hides it to avoid inappropriate images from users not on hexbear.

It's got a million names. It's NGC 5236/messier 83/the southern pinwheel galaxy. Not for dirty northerner eyes >:D
