Chat is a text only community for casual conversation, please keep shitposting to the absolute minimum. This is intended to be a separate space from c/chapotraphouse or the daily megathread. Chat does this by being a long-form community where topics will remain from day to day unlike the megathread, and it is distinct from c/chapotraphouse in that we ask you to engage in this community in a genuine way. Please keep shitposting, bits, and irony to a minimum.

As with all communities posts need to abide by the code of conduct, additionally moderators will remove any posts or comments deemed to be inappropriate.

Thank you and happy chatting!

The hate for BMF always weirded me out because he was mostly correct

[–] Philosophosphorous@hexbear.net 16 points 3 months ago (1 children)

seriously, BMF posts were filled with 'terminally online' jargon but were otherwise mostly valid interpretations of 3rd worldist theory. not too different than those SLAMMER memes that get posted here. the only real criticism i would make is that BMFs criticisms of anarchism veered into violating our no sectarianism rule even when i agreed with them.

Didn't he go on some weird anti-vaxx rant once tho?

Really BMF only flaw was that he would sometimes get very sectarian in their posting, everything else was fine

to me that just made him cooler

Who hated BMF? Not everyone agreed with him but his posting style was so esoteric it was hard to ever get mad about it. Plus it helped he never responded to people commenting on his posts.

Outside of the sectarianism I think most people remember him rather fondly.

There was one time where on one of his apparent alts, he freaked out on a person talking about "people scapegoating the jews for the ills capitalism" and he was like "financial imperialists collaborators are not scapegoats"
