NYT stating the obvious months after everyone else realized it.
NYT stating the obvious after enabling the sanewashing for years.
By removing military leaders, and the JAGs that oversee them, he's setting the stage for broad usage of the US military on American citizens. The orange rapists next target is selling our natural resources and parks off to the highest bidder for his "Sovereign Wealth Fund." This can be expected after he fired a majority of parks staff. So basically setting the stage for a blow out sale of America et. large. Soon other countries will be enticed with offers of buying up huge swaths of data on all of us (if they haven't just given it to them outright). The red line has been passed, and there's no turning back, because republicans refuse to see the emperor has no clothes. A two-party state can't exist when one of the parties is batshit insane, and focused solely on accumulating personal power and wealth.
I had plans for my life. Hopes, dreams. I thought America would get up to the edge of destruction but ultimately turn away, because of all the knowledge, data, and communication available to us. Instead, we're mid-step marching off the cliff into global ruin, and there appears to be nothing I can do about it.
That you helped get elected. Fuck the NYT.
It's ok guys, we have an electoral college for preventing exactly this scenario! Wait, how was that supposed to work again?
It's ok guys, if that fails we have three separate but equal branches of government to keep each other in check! Wait, how was the supposed to work again?
A damning critique of unchecked power undermining military independence and the rule of law.
😺😺😺😺😺
america has the president they elected. its up to the people to hold him to account
No, it's up to the judiciary and legislature (who the people elected). Unless of course you mean solving the problem like an unnamed plumber who fancies green.
Ukraine "elected" a Russian stooge who tried to sell them out and they burned shit down and shot up police to run him out of town. Americans are broadly both complicit and complacent.
Trumps trick is to get the stupidest rebels as his base, so the guys first to revolt are on his side now. Peak confusion.
How many months did it take to do that? I'm pretty sure a strong approach would be met with a considerably more lethal response, though.
What I've seen on the ground here, too, is not complacency. The Democrats are, but the people are protesting almost every day somewhere in the country independent of party. It just hasn't gotten violent (yet), as I think we need some of our gun crazies to turn on Trump.
No, we mean solving the problem like we did in 1865... Maybe this time, we'll let the modern day Sherman finish the job.
theres an amendment relating to tyrannical government and bears
Hol'up. We're turning to big, bristly men's men to save us? Not the timeline I thought I was on, but I'll see how this plays out. 🍿🤓🤷🏼♂️
My man, we are long past that point.
It is never too late to do the right thing.
You must understand that the republican traitor filth will not hold trump to account. Surely you know this, deep inside. Dems can’t do fuck all without a majority in the House and 67 seats in the Senate.
Federal judges are not elected.
I don't think it's clear, given the known massive voter suppression, and the likelihood of machine tampering, that we actually did elect him, but you're still right. The people have to hold him to account, because nobody else will.
A system that would allow someone like Trump to hold office is defective and illegitimate.
I'm so tired of people saying this. Not that you're wrong, just that it's a terrible mentality for us to move forward. We are going to need our neighbors, regardless of political background, more than ever in the coming years. And constantly saying "I told you so" is only going to piss them off to the point they will never have your back. Besides the obviously racist and misogynistic ones, a lot of those that voted for Trump were just ignorant about what he was going to do.
Believe it or not, there are people that don't use social media, or watch the news, or stay up to date on current events. Some people don't even have a smart phone. They just live a quiet life and vote based on the party without knowing a damn thing about the candidates. And some people are just more susceptible to propaganda. But if you blame people for being ignorant instead of trying to educate them you are only exasperating the situation. As soon as you call someone stupid for something you basically discredit everything you are going to say after that because they're not going to listen to you anymore.
Besides the obviously racist and misogynistic ones, a lot of those that voted for Trump were just ignorant about what he was going to do.
He literally said, many times, what he planned to do. There was an entire document called "Project 2025" that wrote it all out.
There's no ignorance in what trump was planning to do. Not after a presidency, and two campaigns. If you dont know what he was planning at this point, it's because you didn't want to know.
Honestly, there are just a lot of very low-info people. A lot of people really do think Republicans "do 'conomy gud", too, despite all the evidence that runs counter to that claim.
If you dont[sic] know what he was planning at this point, it's because you're lying through your damn teeth.
There, FTFY. Let's not leave any wiggle room.
Many voted for Trump because of singular points that they felt was important and chose to ignore other his other bad decisions because they thought they were special and he wouldn't touch them.
But a lesson that everyone should learn from the playground is that bad people don't just do one bad thing. They will do everything they until someone stops them.
That's why non-Trumpers think Trump voters are dumb. Because the signs were as clear as the day that he would do all kinds of nasty shit.
Educate them? Even after all that's happened since 20 Jan, many don't believe that their vote wrought this hell upon them. It's easier to train consequences to lab monkeys.
Krasnov is a foreign agent
I've been hearing it a lot, really. It seems like a lot of people are saying it! I don't trust this Krasnov guy, personally, but I'm not saying he's a foreign agent, I mean he's very, well, just look at him, right, WOW, but lots of other people have said "Look, there's Krasnov the Russian agent" and I couldn't say they were wrong, but I couldn't say much because all I know he really loves that Putin and I think it's a good thing to get along with our other world leaders, Putin Kim, Trudeau you know we love him don't we but he's a LITTLE WEAK maybe? Might an OK governer though, and maybe even the Krasnovs, a lot of people have been saying it...
Edit: we have a rogue president. I'm drunk, sure, but he could post that shit for real and it wouldn't phase the die-hards
Which one?
What we have is a rogue constitutional republic... as it's the only thing left for Hamführgler to suffocate between his Pollock'ed cheeks, and he's just doing what he's told, anyhow. 🤮
By using the fallacious non-existent term "constitutional republic" you have already fallen for the right wing propaganda.
