Don’t quote the deep magic to me, witch. I was there when it was written.

I take issue with the first description of the first one. It is an evolution from what was courage wolf. Courage wolf was a meme template where the top line set up the situation and the bottom showed how you courageously did something in response.

People then took it to the next level with insanity wolf, the one depicted here. The top line is the same, setting up some kind of situation. But the bottom line changed to doing something absolutely insane that no person would ever ever do in real life.

Wow... Just when I thought it was over it just kept going... 😂

we stumbled upon a sacred digital treasure

[–] driving_crooner 26 points 1 year ago (5 children)

The 8th one, with the lady crying, is definitely wrong. It was a first-world problems, something people wirh comfy lives would complain that are not a real problem.

[–] Tavarin@lemmy.world 20 points 1 year ago

That's basically what it says, just worded differently.

[–] notsofunnycomment@mander.xyz 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

"Third" should be "first". I think its a slip of the keyboard.

[–] Navigate@partizle.com 3 points 1 year ago

That was my thought at first. I think what they mean by "something a third-world person would like to complain about" is more like "someone from a third world country wishes they had those kinds of problems instead of the ones they do"

Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn't work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: !antiquememesroadshow@lemmy.world

[–] 7eter@feddit.de 5 points 1 year ago

whoa - good bot!

[–] Caboose12000@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago
[–] JackOfNoTrades@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (4 children)

For some reason the link posted by Ghostalmedia worked for me but the link posted by the bot didn't. Can anyone explain why? Is it just because I'm on the lemmy.world instance?

[–] ramplay@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

If the bot link doesn't work it's more likely a client issue I would assume (the app or browser you're using)

A time when memes were fun and goofy. Now it's all smug-looking wojaks. Can't we all agree to go back to those days?

[–] TheLobotomist@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

We already have

[–] happyhippo@feddit.it 4 points 1 year ago
[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Eh, we had ragefaces before we shifted to those image captions. And we also had demotivational posters before the ragefaces

Anyone remember foul bachelor frog?

[–] majere@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

History became legend.

Legend became myth.

And for two and a half thousand years, Foul Bachelor Frog passed out of all knowledge.

Real Confession Bear memes were my favorite

[–] ikiru@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I don't know why exactly but Good Guy Greg always cracked me up.

Maybe it's because I'm an asshole. Still waiting to see one of those memes pop up.

[–] ramplay@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I was more a Shitbag Steve connoisseur (I can't remember the real name so please no Crucifixion!)

[–] Jesse@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I remember when someone confessed to a murder with one, and after that couldn't be topped it started to fade away

Far too many people are using confession bear to gather sympathy for non-confessions

"My boss told me to kill 52 orphans and yell racial slurs at black people but I told him to fuck off, even though you shouldn't swear. (Now please go ahead and tell me how good of a person I actually am)"

[–] AzPsycho@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Like I said. "Real" Confession Bear memes.

[–] z3k3lon@lemmy.pt 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Guard this with your life!
