Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

Snip:

A senior Iranian official said that Tehran has warned six countries they will face "severe consequences" if they support Washington in a military attack against the Islamic Republic, Reuters reported on 6 April.

"Iran has issued warnings to Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Turkey, and Bahrain that any support for a US attack on Iran, including the use of their airspace or territory by the US military during the attack, will be considered a hostile act," the official stated while speaking to Reuters on condition of anonymity.

The official stressed that such an action "would have severe consequences for those countries," adding that "Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has placed the Iranian armed forces on high alert."

Textbook.

America hounds a country for decades, covertly and overtly - making legitimate threats, scheming all the while for the moment of weakness in which they can strike. Country responds with military spending, and calls to action, warnings, and so on and on.

The media will then turn around and say said country is a war mongering security threat, under the thumb of a paranoid dictator.

In cases where the 'paranoid dictator' loosens restrictions and allows U.S influences, him and his countrymen end up in bodybags 2 years later.

But they have to let their master and owner use them for those purposes. That's why it bought them. Certainly Bahrain, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait derive their legitimacy from US propping them up is my understanding. And Turkey is literally a member of NATO.

No reason not to do this but at the same time no reason to expect it will work. If the US attacks Iran it will be through one or multiples of these countries not from the gulf.

Yes the people who allow the US to port and use airspace will be insulated from any Iranian retaliation. If Iran was restrained enough on their attack against Pissrael to not target citizens I assume it would be the same on Gulf states.

Whether it's a credible threat or posturing, Iran has to make this threat.

I dont think this was a threat to those nations so much as to the US. Letting the US know whatever vassal they use to attack Iran is fair game.

This threat would probably mean more if they had nukes. Do it, Iran.
