100% correct. Problem is, the other countries who are expected to subject themselves to this "art", don't usually do so.

America's general populace (present company excepted of course) has always voted for internal issues, and their populistic narratives. Other countries or global policy rarely enters election campaigns or public discourse. But - at least until recently - there were people in charge who still had a clue of what's going on in the world.

In other words, if you treat the world like you treat your people, the world just might react differently, you dumb fuck.

I have a proposal. But first, a definition:

megalomania /mĕg″ə-lō-mā′nē-ə, -mān′yə/

noun A psychopathological condition characterized by delusional fantasies of wealth, power, or omnipotence. An obsession with grandiose or extravagant things or actions. A form of mental alienation in which the patient has grandiose delusions.

I propose we collectively coin the term MAGAlomaniac. It’s an offshoot of megalomaniac, but for those who follow MAGA.

I tried to type out 'megalomaniac' and unintentionally misspelled it as 'magalomaniac' in a comment i made somewhere yesterday.

Went back to my comment, noticed this, and then realized... no, wait, this is a good misspelling, and wrote an addendum.

I entirely support 'magalomaniac' and 'magalomania' as terms, lets get them in the DSM 6.

Aside for Psychologists

(And before a psych major or phd says 'DSM V is the last DSM edition!'... no, its not, otherwise the TR version of V wouldn't ... be a thing... arguably it is the DSM 6...)

I propose everyone just start calling them those racist pieces of shit. It has been working for me.

How about MEGA MAGA? Has a ring to it.
I can see the posters:
"MEGA MAGA! Final Sale - 90% off! Everything Must Go! "

Megalomania is that an Undertale or Earthbound reference?

[–] isles@piefed.social 5 points 1 day ago

I assume it's a reference to 1880 when the word was invented.

In another thread someone was saying that conservatives follow a worldview of "whatever works for me right now". There's no internal consistency or facts. This explains a lot. It looks a lot like being stupid, but i think is something slightly different

Not enough of a sense of the past of the ability to prospectively look into the future beyond "vibes" and those vibes are often "it was better when i was younger" and "the 'others' are going to overrun my country"
