Summary:
I downvoted pro-AI comments in a post in leftymemes community. It was LLM generated polandball comic (Which is objectively pathetic as fuck) that showed up on my feed, blocked couple of users who I thought were unhinged, and have blocked the whole instance on my client after realizing how rabid these morons are.
I didn't go looking for AI posts like a vigilante.
One user in question got miffed for being downvoted and banned me from places they moderate.
I was participating in the comment section of that post, and I was actually defending the ~~criticism of~~* using AI for memes, but I agree that mods over there are... a little too proactive. Like, I was debating with a person and their comments were getting removed. Sure, I disagreed with that person, but their comments weren't particularly outrageous as to be removed.
On the other hand, it seems that both communities have a couple "outspoken vegan" kind of members whose intent is to be the guy from "stop having fun!" meme. Which causes mod overreaction.
I doubt it was because of downvoting only.
Lemmy is just as messed up as Reddit. Had my first acct nuked because I argued that Jewish people were supporting a genocide. Not all. But a majority. And boom the Zionists silenced my voice because I’m not cool with genocide.

I've seen a few tankies buying hard into the "AI" grift. Gotta remember these people support the attack on ukraine. They're easily misled due to their support of authoritarianism, etc.
But on the other hand... That particular comm is for people who enjoy generated art. They don't want to hear the same old attacks... I dunno about a downvote though.

Secondly (nitpick), they banned you in all the AI instances they moderate (2), but not Europe.
Thirdly, this is bullshit. I'm not sure exactly what you've done to deserve this but if you're just downvoting a post, that's CRAZY. I've not even seen a comment from you in these communities get delete or anything. Worth posting the yee powertripping just to keep them humble.
