I don't think the comparison is far-fetched. Of course, China was a already a full dictatorship back then, and the US isn't yet.

doubt

Based 18th Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte understander has logged on and recognized that the PRC is a dictatorship of the proletariat, but the US is a bonapartist special case due to its conjuncture where the state must take on the role of class-conflict-mediator rather than class-dictatorship-organ (this analysis is completely wrong)

Lenin would have been such a legendary poster

Who would they even say was the dictator of China in 1989? Fucking Deng?

In the liberal mind: Mao died and his successor Xi Jinping was ready to go at a moments notice.

I told my brother that we live in a bourgeois dictatorship and he told me I was crazy. When a liberal calls something a dictatorship I have no idea what they mean.

Dictatorship = one dude with a hat or moustache tells everyone to do funny dances (see: North Korea)

Everyone doing funny dances because their refusal or inability to do so would cause them to starve in the streets? And the system of social relations that keeps this situation going is being propped up by violent force on behalf of a constellation of powerful people who own everything? Democracy.

There should be a bot that recognizes tank man pictures on social media sites and posts the full video under them.

I shouldn't have read the replies. It's not worth it; it's not even interesting.

In response to Trump winning - post-election the site ginormously ballooned. Before it was passionate libs at brunch letting their hair down so I enjoyed eavesdropping in their threads. But the site lost its mojo. Posts and threads are usually bland, dull, and uninspired.

Somebody like @InternetHippo will post some brain fart for fun and it will get 8k likes. And the entire thread is people posting worse stuff to like-grab. Sad.
