Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

holding flashlight under face

Imagine a terrifying world where we are all ruled by monsters of every stripe. And not hot ones like werewolves, but instead decaying zombies and mummies who are both insensitive to, and actively benefit from the immense suffering they cause on a daily basis. The top echelon of society, filled with profit-seeking, bloodsucking vampires. And the worst of it is that they repeat on a daily basis that what they are doing is not only just, but there is no other possible way to do it.

Pretty spooky, right? What if I told you that this world... was our own?

Happy Halloween!

Friendly reminder: when commenting about a news event, especially something that just happened, please provide a source of some kind. While ideally this would be on nitter or archived, any source is preferable to none at all given.

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

UNRWA daily-ish reports on Israel's destruction and siege of Gaza and the West Bank.

English-language Palestinian Marxist-Leninist twitter account. Alt here.
English-language twitter account that collates news (and has automated posting when the person running it goes to sleep).
Arab-language twitter account with videos and images of fighting.
English-language (with some Arab retweets) Twitter account based in Lebanon.
English-language Palestinian Twitter account which reports on news from the Resistance Axis.

English-language PalestineResist telegram channel.
More telegram channels here for those interested.

Various sources that are covering the Ukraine conflict are also covering the one in Palestine, like Rybar.

The Country of the Week is Lebanon! Feel free to chime in with books, essays, longform articles, even stories and anecdotes or rants. More detail here.

Here is the map of the Ukraine conflict, courtesy of Wikipedia.

This week's first update is here.

The bulletins site is down.

Examples of Ukrainian Nazis and fascists

Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Add to the above list if you can.

Resources For Understanding The War

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.

Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Pro-Russian

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.

https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.

https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.

https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.

https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.

https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.

https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine

Almost every Western media outlet.

https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.

https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

Dude walks up to a Merkava. Plants a bomb on the side of it by hand. Runs away. Turns around and fires an RPG at it. Escapes into tunnels.

Literally playing Battlefield irl planting C4s on tanks to destroy them.

Quite possibly the most remarkable piece of combat footage in the last 50 years.

Israel calls on Colombia and Chile to condemn Hamas. The appeal comes after the Latin American countries recalled their ambassadors to Israel.

Chile’s President Gabriel Boric cited Israel’s “unacceptable violations of international humanitarian law” for the recall, while Colombian President Gustavo Petro accused Israel committing a “massacre” of Palestinians in Gaza.

In a statement, Israeli foreign ministry spokesman Lior Haiat said: “Israel calls on Colombia and Chile to explicitly condemn the Hamas terrorist organization, which slaughtered and abducted babies, children, women and the elderly...“Israel expects Colombia and Chile to support the right of a democratic country to protect its citizens, and to call for the immediate release of all the abductees, and not align themselves with Venezuela and Iran in support of Hamas terrorism,” he said.

lmao sir SIR SIR DO YOU CONDEMN HAMAS SIR SIR

Nasrallah delivered a realistic and clarifying speech that set the new terms of engagement. High quality leadership as always.

This is what was needed and we can be sure this speech has psychologically eroded and confused the Zionists and their American masters.

His speech clearly explained how Hezbollah has been involved in the fight and that this fight today is driven by the SELF DETERMINATION of the Palestinian nation as represented by the Resistance Leadership, specifically Hamas.

His speech exposed the hypocrisy of Arab nations and Lebanese compradors begging Hezbollah not to act; showing how shameless and munafiqeen so called Arab leaders are.

He specifically identified the US as the cause of the massacres in Gaza and the region and, as a small non-state paramilitary threatened the United States of America! And revealed that Hezbollah has the capabilities to sink the American navy ships! Alhamdulillah

When he says "now is not the time for the knockout blow" is because the entity is bleeding out every day. Hamas is winning in Gaza. The occupation gets weaker every day. Unless the imperialists carry out a pre-emptive strike on Lebanon then Hamas will dictate when Hezbollah joins the fight. Its a long game and you have to understand these leaders are responsible for literally millions of people. This isn't a video game.

Liberation wars are paid in the blood of hundreds of thousands of martyrs. If or when escalation occurs then the massacres in Gaza these weeks will be only a small fraction of the pure blood spilled by the imperialists. If you have no skin in the game then it is beyond deplorable to be calling for escalation of a war.

May Allah grant victory to the Mujahideen and peace for the martyrs. Inshallah

The NYT confirms that in northern Gaza - an Israeli tank fired on that civilian vehicle driving away.

A Palestinian media worker, Youssef Al Saifi, has shared video showing an Israeli armored vehicle firing on what he said was a civilian vehicle today on a main road that links northern Gaza to the south. The New York Times has verified that the video was filmed this morning south of Gaza City on the Salah Al-Din Road. The road is one of two major routes used by Gazans to heed Israeli warnings and flee to the southern part of the enclave. The vehicle was traveling north when it encountered an Israeli position, and was hit as it was turning around.

When asked about the video at a morning briefing, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, the chief spokesman for the Israeli military, said that he would not detail the location of Israeli forces. The New York Times has identified multiple armored vehicles at an Israeli military position at the location of the incident.

Palestine TV correspondent Salman Al-Bashir throws his press vest and helmet to the ground live on air moments after his colleague Mohammad Abu Hatab was martyred in an IOF airstrike on his home in Khan Younis.

"These are simply symbolic items we wear. They don't protect any journalist. None of this does. We are simply victims live on air, sacrificing our souls one after the other. We go as martyrs only. It is only a matter of time.

Our colleague Mohammed Abu Hattab was here just half an hour ago before he was martyred with many of his family members."

At least 11 martyrs ascended in the strike, including Mohammed's wife, son, brother, and others.

Over 35 journalists have ascended to martyrdom as a result of IOF strikes on Gaza since October 7th.

Glory to the martyrs.

Every civilian death is a tragedy.

When liberals are yelling about sanctioning Russia and sending weapons to Israel consider this:

  • In 20 months there were 9600 civilian fatalities in Ukraine according to the UN (1179 killed in the first month, I think this counts both sides)
  • In 3 weeks at least 8000 Palestinian civilians were murdered by the IOF

The civilian murder rate of Israel is 24x that of Russia.

Sorry for being vulgar, but the hypocrisy, the double standards in the mainstream discourse is... staggering to say the least. Spineless bastards.

Wtf is it with the lib idea that Hamas is some kind of corrupt, ruling gang that heavily exploits the civilians of Gaza as human shields just to stay in power? Do libs even hear themselves speaking? That doesn't make any fucking sense. Somehow they have this idea in their head that being in a leadership position of a resistance group inside a literal concentration camp is a cushy enough gig to warrant fighting an all out war with Israel solely to perpetuate their position.

The most charitable way I can interpret such a profoundly incorrect reading of Hamas is chalking it up to another consequence of the fact that the vast majority of liberals do not know even the absolute barest, most fundamental basics of Palestine's situation. They must think Gaza is just another Arab country on Israel's border and that it has a corrupt, antisemitic government with little popular support. As such, they've totally missed the fact that it is an open air concentration camp in the first place.

I was thinking this morning about that bullshit Isreal was dishing out last week, saying Islamic Jihad was the one that accidentally bombed the hospital.

If Islamic Jihad truly had bombs that were that powerful, why would they simply STOP FUCKING USING THEM. Do these idiots really think they just used this one bomb, said 'oops we fired it wrong' then decided to not use the many other massive bombs they had to hit Isreal.

I don't know if this thought makes sense, but gaht damn you have to be a fucking idiot to think that was Islamic Jihad. So you're telling me they have what could be a massive military advantage and they're simply deciding not to use that military advantage right now. Fuck.

I love how Zionists can only point to 2 or 3 bullshit stories they cooked up but we have thousands of verifiably true instances of their brutality.

If western media dedicated as much time to every war crime Israel has ever done as they have to 40 trillion sautéed babies, the universe would die before they could wrap it up.

— 🇰🇷/🇰🇵 JUST IN: North Korea will start arming Palestine and Iran-backed resistance axis militias - NIS

The National Intelligence Service of South Korea say they have credible evidence that DPRK Leader Kim Jong Un has ordered his government to begin providing support to the Palestinians.

According to NIS, he has also ordered officials to begin looking into the possibility of weapons shipments to resistance factions militias across the Middle East.

Based

I don't believe NIS on anything but you can 100% guarantee that I'm spreading this to pro palestine peoples. This is a very strong opportunity to get through to people who are currently ignoring media lies about palestine. They will be willing to re-evaluate their opinion of DPRK if they're in the mindset of rejecting propaganda. On top of that they're going to be very happy to have such support from them.

Just noticed that next week marks the Kherson withdrawal one year anniversary. Literally nothing gamechanging has happened since then. Wagner took Bakhmut, which is the only notable city changing hands in a whole fucking year. We losers have been reading news for a whole year and if you show anyone a Ukraine War map from Nov 2022 and Nov 2023, the human eye can't see a difference other than the little Ukrainian death bulge near Robotyne. I wish I had learned Chinese or something instead of reading tweets about Wagner tactics in Soledar and Ukrainian leopard Ls in Urozhaine for an hour a day.

Gaza’s Turkish-Palestinian Hospital ‘severely damaged’ in Israeli strike

The Ministry of Health in Gaza has said that the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital has suffered severe damage in a fresh Israeli air attack.

The bombing hit the third floor of the hospital, with photos showing the impact of the strike.

wow, a Turkish-built hospital gets destroyed a few days after Israel gets pissy at Erdogan for saying stuff? they've certainly never targeted people/structures in retaliation for criticizing them before

Difference in morale between IOF and Hamas fighters has to be immeasurable.

Hamas are fighting for their very existence, many of them have nothing to lose, their friends, families and livelihoods were wiped out by the IOF. There is no home to return to, nowhere to run, and the people who did this to you are the exact enemies you're fighting right now. At that point, what else are you gonna do except run at the tank and pray?

Germany to ban Hamas

As we reported earlier, Germany is banning the pro-Palestinian advocacy group Samidoun, now, the government has announced that the activities of Hamas will also be prohibited.

Interior minister Nancy Faeser said in a statement, “With Hamas, I have today completely banned the activities of a terrorist organisation whose aim is to destroy the state of Israel”.

But a Hamas representative in Lebanon said the ban showed that the country was in partnership with Israel on crimes against Palestinian people.

“This prompts us to question whether the German political mentality is a Holocaust mentality that affects all peoples and is not limited to one party or another,” Osama Hamdan said.

Not the greatest fan of the Resistance Cinematic Universe so far; while Iran Man 2 was a nice showing and Houtheye had that awesome moment when the superhero lands a missile with pinpoint accuracy from 2000 kilometers away, there's way too much dialogue compared to action. Guess that's what you get when you don't have the US military bankrolling you though
