This is pretty sad, Biden blocked the railroad strikes and now in a last ditch effort to repair his image before the elections is "backing" the UAW. How long before he stabs them in the back after re-election?

Fain says stop genocide, but also vote for its enabler.

I dont he'll stab them tbh, he is american union boy, and american unions have not been very anti us foreign policy for a while

Sorry to be wildly off-topic, but what does this emoji mean? I know this is one of the IASIP people (maybe the same one who also does the yarn conspiracy board?), but idk anything other than that

He’s saying “I’m playing both sides so I always come out on top”

[–] ValpoYAFF@hexbear.net 4 points 11 months ago

This is Mack. The conspiracy board guy is Charlie.

Friendly reminder that trade unionism in the imperial core is in a terrible state. Unions are not inherently socialist things or even good things, they are just tools that can be wielded for local worker desires (and often don't even do that).

When we speak of worker power and workplace organization we must understand it through a critical lens, otherwise we will end up building the structures that will be the end of us and whitewash, and even build up, imperialism.

Way to negotiate for even a crumb of a symbolic concession.

I would like to say, there are videos of UAW members yelling at Biden about Gaza.

This is pretty much to be expected, although it seems like now is a really weird time to endorse instead of waiting for the general.

Still support unions?

If I were the leader of the UAW, I'd endorse Biden too. The IBEW endorsed him against Bernie in the 2020 primaries to their benefit when thousands of union jobs wiring chip factories were added to BBB.

afaik only thing Biden did was show up to one of their pickets. This is his last possible term too. He has nothing to gain by helping the UAW any further after election

say Trump 'stands against everything we stand for'

Aside from genocide apparently
