Fuck yeah, Metal Gear Solid! I feel like remasters and PC ports are a no brainer. Konami has the engine Kojima did for MGS5, which I assume is what they are using to re-make 3.
black and white 2 needs a modern remake.
Twisted Metal 2 for PC.
Bloodborne. Or just a 60+ FPS patch...and a PC version.
No One Lives Forever games would be ripe for a remaster.
No One Lives Forever 1 and 2.
Eternal Darkness
Chatturga Chatturga Ulyoth pargon pargon
Icewind Dale 2 need a remaster / EE edition. I remember reading somewhere that the source code was lost. Same issue with HOMM3 extensions that why there is no HD edition of the full game and why GOG version is still the best.
Arcanum and Divinity II (Ego Draconis, not original sin 2)
Future Cop: LAPD
I know I’m in a minority but DK64! I loved that game as a kid. Maybe it was because my game library was quite small growing up but I spent hours and hours during summer vacation with the DK Crew
Dark Souls 1
I'll give them points for fixing the technical issues. But, IMO, slapping some textures (that breaks the original atmosphere) isn't good enough. It would've been amazing to have Demon Ruins + Lost Izalith fixed.
But to be realistic this was nothing more than a cash grab; minimal effort. Which I can't necessarily blame as that's the whole point of people doing anything. People gotta eat.
Lord of the rings; battle for middle earth
I'd be interested to see a modern version of Mercenaries
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Wing Commander - Privateer (1)
Chrono Trigger, but it's gotta be cel shaded in Toriyama's style. I think we see some of this with the newer Dragon Ball games but I feel like Series X/PS5 should really be able to do something special with cel shading.
Or heck, go balls out and go hand-drawn like Cuphead.
No one lives forever. Unfortunately no one seems to know who owns the rights anymore.
I'd love to see star wars republic commando as well as the Jedi knight series!
Simpsons Hit and Run. So much fun.
Beyond Good and Evil.
Absolute masterpiece. Ubisoft has been squandering the IP for decades.
Not sure it needs a remaster. I like it, but it's a short game and it still works as is. It was also mostly a commercial failure, unfortunately, and a rerelease is unlikely to change that.
It needed a proper sequel, one big enough that it would make people rediscover the first one, and we're never getting that. What they showed of 2 ages ago looked nothing like the game the few BG&E fans wanted, it was just yet another random Ubi open world. Anyway even that is probably never going anywhere.
C&C: Tiberian Sun and the Firestorm expansion. I wasn't the biggest fan of the original C&C, but picked up the remaster to show my support in the hopes that Tiberian Sun would get the treatment. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be happening as far as I've seen.
Yes, and Red Alert 2 as well (since it runs on the same-ish engine).
I've been hoping for this since the release of the remastered versions of the original C&C and Red Alert.
Morrowind
My heart and soul says YES but the rational part of my brain knows they would just screw it up. Morrowind is a product of a long-gone age of gaming and I can't imagine the suits would let it fly today, and it wouldn't be the same without its old charms and quirks.
- .hack IMOQ (I was coping so hard after GU got a remaster but still nothing)
- Dragon age origins
- Digimon world 3. There have been two reboots/reimaginings of digimon world 1 (re digitized decode, and next order), but never anything about world 2 and 3.
Digimon World 3 had such a wild story as well! I feel like Cyber Sleuth was a semi-spiritual successor given it takes place in a sort of VR cyberspace. But I loved the DW3 concept of a VR MMO. Would adore a remake as it's extremely long and clunky for today (almost unplayable without 3x speed on ePSXe).
Jak II (and probably the others after it but I haven't gotten to them yet so can't say for sure). Not Precursor Legacy though, it's perfect and nobody can tell me otherwise
Edit: jk I forgot Precursor Legacy didn't have subtitles, it could do with those.
Half Life 1 (and 2 at this point, tbh) Actually fuck it let's just re-do all the Valve Source FPS. TAKE MY MONEY
Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 would be an awesome candidate for an AOE Definitive Edition style remake where the mechanics are virtually unchanged but it's given a 3D graphics overhaul with unfixed zoom levels
Tron 2.0 but it'll never happen because it's a split timeline from Tron Legacy :[
