Doctor-patient confidentiality is a serious thing. It doesn't matter what you think, you never leak info about people's medical.

[-] geekwithsoul@lemm.ee 81 points 4 months ago

The worst part is that these weren’t even his patients - he just decided to share their private medical records to own the libs

[-] LadyAutumn@lemmy.blahaj.zone 29 points 4 months ago

Fascists do not see trans people as human beings. It's not a matter of thinking. They literally view trans kids as subhuman and want to implement a state apparatus to forcefully abuse them with conversion therapy.

How many years of GOP control before they pass an amendment to HIPAA that excludes gender-affirming care from its protection?

[-] Delusional@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Years? It'd be quick when they start their plans to destroy America (project 2025)

[-] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 4 months ago

OK, so like a fractional amount of years...

[-] njm1314@lemmy.world 78 points 4 months ago

Not just that he violated privacy laws and patient confidentiality laws and all that, but the fact that he leaked this information about children to people he knew that was out to hurt those children. That's the part that gets me he didn't knowing it would get children hurt. His goal was to cause pain and suffering to patience. This guy's not a doctor he's not a physician. He should lose is medical license. This is a violation of everything being a medical physician should mean. It's the exact opposite of hypocratic oath. Which is the only oath that should matter to these people.

Conservatism is a vile plague of oppression and death. Even a conservative "doctor" can never be trusted.

The conservatives are becoming the brownshirts right before our eyes. Just as they have always done throughout history, conservatives will oppress and kill as many normal people as possible if they are not physically stopped. They will spare no one, not even children.

Understand that your conservative coworkers, neighbors and even family members will betray you. They cannot stop themselves. It is just who they are at their core.

Unfortunately, there has never been a peaceful solution to an uprising of conservatives. Pacifism has never worked to stop them. Be proactive, train and prepare mentally and physically for what's to come.

Your comment needs to be copy and pasted in every article where crazy shit like this is happening. Ever since I watched the latest episode of Last Week Tonight about Project 2025, I haven't been this worried and we all know conservatives are encouraging violence too, but they actually follow through.

The automatic enrollment for the draft really freaked me out. Not even an illusion of choice anymore. A clear step towards fascism. Jesus.

[-] shalafi@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago

That particular thing is not a big deal, at all. If you're a man, you must register for Selective Service at 18. Been that way since I did it 35-years ago, had to go figure out how to do it manually. Not like you could formerly opt out and just not get drafted. "Well, damn. He's not on the list, guess we can't draft him! Clever bastard."

This change merely automates the process. One less thing for a young man to worry about or get in trouble for.

[-] LustyArgonianMana@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago

Agree to disagree. This really shows me that most of the people who protested Vietnam are dead. Not signing up for the draft can be an act of protest. The tiny choice we used to have is now gone.

[-] andrewta@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

Still have a choice and a way to fight back. Do what so many did. Head to Canada.

[-] LustyArgonianMana@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

I never stated that it was the only option. The fact that it was taken away is significant, especially because it was a symbolic act of protest rather than an effective act. Aka it didn't even do anything and they still don't like that. Why tf do we even have a draft? If we really need one, we can pass one through the government at that time. It should be retired. It's weird.

[-] Delusional@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago

Only a good conservative can stop a bad conservative.

Only an oxymoron can stop a pleonasm

[-] BlameThePeacock@lemmy.ca 59 points 4 months ago

I don't think many nonviolent offences should result in life imprisonment, but this should be one of them.

Fuck this guy.

[-] nondescripthandle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 31 points 4 months ago

This wasn't non violent, it was stochastic violence. He chose to leak to who he leaked it to specifically because of the chance one of them acts on it.

[-] Empricorn@feddit.nl 48 points 4 months ago

Extremists: Nothing is more important than their hate. Not their family, not their job, not the law, not society... We have to fight them, always.

[-] TheBananaKing@lemmy.world 46 points 4 months ago

Could this count as a hate crime?

[-] cyborganism@lemmy.ca 22 points 4 months ago

Not in God loving Texas it ain't. They're doing God's work.

[-] TrainsAreCool@lemmy.one 27 points 4 months ago

Soon-to-be former doctor.

But I doubt that will make him regret what he did. He'll probably blame the "woke leftists" for "silencing him".

[-] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 4 months ago

I can't imagine going into that much debt, and spending that much of your life, just to throw it all away and be a piece of shit like this on a scale that makes national/international news.

[-] 555@lemmy.world 26 points 4 months ago
[-] DigitalNirvana@lemm.ee 21 points 4 months ago

I mean, maybe. But at least pull his license.

[-] mosiacmango@lemm.ee 17 points 4 months ago

10 years is fully possible.

He will likely lose his medical license whether hes convicted of a crime or not. This is a very cut and dry HIPAA violation, in several ways. No way that flies with the AMA.

[-] FlowVoid@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago

The AMA does not issue or revoke medical licenses. In this case, that decision would be up to the state of Texas.

[-] AlbertSpangler@lemmings.world 5 points 4 months ago

So they'll probably name something after him, then

[-] cultsuperstar@lemmy.world 16 points 4 months ago

Ahhh yes, the Party of Freedoms and all they want to do is take them away.

[-] stoy@lemmy.zip 15 points 4 months ago

Why is it so hard to just not be a dick?

[-] SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml 6 points 4 months ago

Because then they'd have to admit that other ways of living are valid, and you can be a good person without believing exactly what they believe.

[-] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 14 points 4 months ago

Conservatives are all such trash. The party of personal freedom sure is awfully interesting in pestering trans people to death.

[-] Treczoks@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

Lets hope they put him behind bars for child endangerment in lots of cases, and shred his GP licence as a bonus.
