This is my greatest anxiety about the chance of having a gay child. I mean, alongside the systemic oppression they will face.

But also, I'm both afraid I'll make this joke and regret it. And also afraid I'll pass on the chance to make this joke and regret it.

Plus the systemic oppression thing. That too.

Just make the joke, it is your obligation as a father. It would also greatly diffuse the situation and cooly tell your kid that you're fine with it and still love them, and that nothing will change between you two.

Just make the joke, it is your obligation as a father.

I'll hold onto that. Hopefully my kids would worry about me if I somehow didn't make the joke, at this point, anyway.

As someone who came out and didn’t speak to their father for a year, this would have been a much better response to my coming out.

We’re good now though, it’s been 30 years.

The best part about the cartoon is that you can pass the joke at first, then send the cartoon later anyway

I wish my kid was gay just so I could do this.

"but Daaad, I am straight."

"WHAT, GET OUT OF THIS HOUSE AND DON'T COME BACK UNTIL YOU'VE FOUND YOUR KINK"

[–] FartsWithAnAccent@fedia.io 4 points 5 months ago (2 children)

Sexual orientation isn't really a kink but lol

He can come out as something suitably unacceptable, like a breeder.

What do I say when I actually laugh out loud? Lol doesn't work anymore.

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 8 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Right? You have to type it all out like you did.

These eyes look really wrong and weird, considering that the remaining drawing looks realistic.
