Two things are infinite: The universe and fake Einstein quotes, and I'm not sure about the universe.

We should require sources for quotes to be taken seriously. That’s too much work for libs though lol

What's the source for this quote? I struggle to picture him saying it, and I can't see it as something he'd ever have printed in a book. He also doesn't strike me as the kind of person to boast about how big brained he is "hurr hurr intelligent people ignore hurr hurr". smuglord

I'm willing to be wrong but I can't find a source for it.

No way he said this. Tons of people misattribute quotes to Einstein. This quote also gets attributed to buddha. Good rule of thumb is: if a quote is plastered all over those dumb quote websites (especially attributed to a very famous person) but doesn't exist on wikiquote, then you can pretty comfortably say its not an accurate quote.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

--Abraham Lincoln

[–] Shinhoshi@lemmygrad.ml 8 points 1 year ago

I love how it’s always attributed to Lincoln

[–] VernetheJules@hexbear.net 7 points 1 year ago

Truly a man ahead of his time

[–] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 17 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Its undeniable that's he is quoted as saying it...

Seriously though it would be a tight competition between Einstein and Stalin as to who has had the most misattributed quotes

"Communism is when so hungry the only source of protein for the proletariat is the sweat from their hard-working balls. Ligma la vista."

Can confirm Stalin directly told me this, which is the true cause of the Sino-Soviet split

[–] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 6 points 1 year ago

There it is tankie, in Stalin's own words. Checkmate

Before one embarks on a path towards revenge they should first dig two graves.

no more half measures walter

[–] simply_surprise@lemmygrad.ml 9 points 1 year ago

For both those motherfuckers who wronged you

[–] Smeagolicious@hexbear.net 8 points 1 year ago

On my path of revenge I’m gonna need a lot more than two

[–] lunlu@lemmygrad.ml 14 points 1 year ago

In everyday experience, I guess it just steals your time thinking about other people, who did you wrong, you really should not care about.

[–] radiofreeval@hexbear.net 10 points 1 year ago

Sometimes you use half measures

[–] Dolores@hexbear.net 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

they can revenge you back. and if you kill them to prevent that their relatives might revenge you. it's this whole thing

[–] barrbaric@hexbear.net 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

if you kill them to prevent that their relatives might revenge you

No more half measures, Walter.

[–] Zuzak@hexbear.net 4 points 1 year ago

Fortunately, human connections are famously discrete, just kill everyone within 6 degrees of separation and that should cover anyone who might seek revenge galaxy-brain

[–] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 9 points 1 year ago

No more half measures Albert

[–] JuneFall@hexbear.net 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Revenge is more easily and relevant in small communities. In large societies it barely works.

[–] Finger@hexbear.net 8 points 1 year ago

Yeah, depends on if they're in The Game or not.

When Malcolm X talks about the knife in the back, he is taking the L because he should just have ignored the knife like the intelligent people. smuglord

Do "smell" and "Al" rhyme for you?

[–] ThisMachineKillsFascists@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] gobble_ghoul@hexbear.net 4 points 1 year ago

Neat. That's called the celery-salary merger. For me "smell" has the same vowel as "bet" and "Al" has the same vowel as "bat", so they're similar but distinct.
