The 1911 Revolution, also known as the Xinhai Revolution or Hsinhai Revolution, ended China's last imperial dynasty, the Qing dynasty, and led to the establishment of the Republic of China. The revolution was the culmination of a decade of agitation, revolts, and uprisings. Its success marked the collapse of the Chinese monarchy, the end of over two millennia of imperial rule in China and the 200-year reign of the Qing, and the beginning of China's early republican era.

The Qing had struggled for a long time to reform the government and resist foreign aggression, but the program of reforms after 1900 was opposed by conservatives in the Qing court as too radical and by reformers as too slow. Several factions, including underground anti-Qing groups, revolutionaries in exile, reformers who wanted to save the monarchy by modernizing it, and activists across the country debated how or whether to overthrow the Qing dynasty. The flash-point came on 10 October 1911, with the Wuchang Uprising, an armed rebellion among members of the New Army. Similar revolts then broke out spontaneously around the country, and revolutionaries in all provinces of the country renounced the Qing dynasty. On 1 November 1911, the Qing court appointed Yuan Shikai (leader of the powerful Beiyang Army) as prime minister, and he began negotiations with the revolutionaries.

In Nanjing, revolutionary forces created a provisional coalition government. On 1 January 1912, the National Assembly declared the establishment of the Republic of China, with Sun Yat-sen, leader of the Tongmenghui (United League), as President of the Republic. A brief civil war between the North and the South ended in compromise. Sun would resign in favor of Yuan, who would become President of the new national government, if Yuan could secure the abdication of the Qing emperor. The edict of abdication of the six-year-old Xuantong Emperor, was promulgated on 12 February 1912. Yuan was sworn in as president on 10 March 1912.

In December 1915, Yuan restored the monarchy and proclaimed himself as the Hongxian Emperor, but the move was met with strong opposition from the population and the Army, leading to his abdication in March 1916 and the reinstatement of the Republic. Yuan's failure to consolidate a legitimate central government before his death in June 1916 led to decades of political division and warlordism, including an attempt at imperial restoration of the Qing dynasty.

The revolution is named Xinhai because it occurred in 1911, the year of the Xinhai (θΎ›δΊ₯) stem-branch in the sexagenary cycle of the traditional Chinese calendar. The governments of Taiwan and China both consider themselves the legitimate successors to the 1911 Revolution and honor the ideals of the revolution including nationalism, republicanism, modernization of China and national unity. 10 October is the National Day of the Republic of China on Taiwan, and the Anniversary of the 1911 Revolution in the PRC.

> projects have really unclear expectations

> complain to management about unclear expectations

> management comes up with a solution

> it's a 10 page document the technical staff has to fill out for management at the start of every project

> every project is now two projects with unclear expectations

Started printing "my" book and instantly made an error counting because I tried to mix different grains of paper because I need to be thrifty and now wasted some short-grain paper... Worse yet we're out of toner. And those are really expensive omori-miserable Kind of dreading telling my wife who has been really supportive of me and found some money to spend for materials and tools but this is way over budget but also necessary for normal stuff since we can't print anything otherwise deeper-sadness

edit: found some on sale! -90% might be a blessing in disguise!

I discuss little a electoralism as a treatdata-laughing

The Tory leadership elections is now down to Robert Jenrick VS Kemi Badenoch. The Tories lost the election, took a long hard look at themselves and said they need to get more racist.

Robert Jenrick is a weird one in that he has hitched his trailer entirely to the Israeli colonial project, he has no policies that aren't related to Israel and makes every one of his appearances about it. I can't see this playing well outside of the Tory parliament bubble.

Meanwhile Kemi Badenoch has taken a more scattershot approach, listing off every demographic she personally hates. This includes but is not limited to: queer people, children, the elderly, anyone not born in england-cool, and pregnant mothers. Edit: also David Tennant, for some reason she announced her leadership campaign by trying to start beef with him.

I'm kinda stunned at how on the nose an anti-immigration candidate with a surname that's just, like, bad-enoch is.

I can't see either one being a popular leader, but Kier Starmer has spent his entire primeminister career so far torpedoing his approval rating, so popularity probably ain't gonna be a factor next election.

Twitch has some of the highest turnover for top streamers. I remember when XQC was huge and it looks like he’s already been passed by Jinxzy, Caseoh, and Jasontheween. All three of them rapidly gained popularity in the last couple of years.

Makes me respect ironmouse more that she’s been able to stay up there for the number of years she’s been active.

curry-space LOOK OUT MOTHERFUCKERS, AUTISM TIME-

Let's horribly overanalyse "Let's horribly break Pokemon Blue"

I love TheZZAZZGlitch, because glitching the gameboy Pokemon games goes hard as hell. I picked up this special interest years and years ago when Metroixer posted the Let's Horribly Break Pokemon Blue text let's-play. At the time this was the only thing I knew about this incredible game-breaking special interest, and when I found TheZZAZZGlitch it felt like a gift, even I know more than Metroixer did back in the day. (VBA lol)

So to see ZZAZZ commentate the original Metroixer let's-play, uh it's like poetry, they rhyme kel-bliss

Can anyone help? My dad is trying to make me into a small business tyrant. He's like "I just registered a business hope you'll take it over when I'm done!" I do not want to be in charge of hiring/firing people. Deciding the livelihoods of others just feels fucked, can you even do that ethically, or is making employment decisions under capitalism just evil?

Powers out but its alright. I got booze and a gas stove. Going to be a lil chilly tonight thank god. First time we’ll feel some cool air since winter. Got Slowdive instrumentals playing in the background to drown out the noise through the walls.

It's weird to me that of the companions in bg3 there's no orcs or half-orcs, no dwarves, no gnomes and no halflings even though they're supposedly classic character ancestries in DND. Instead everyone is either a human, a half-elf or elf except laezel and karlach

Panera used to have sandwiches under 500 calories. They did a new menu rebrand and now their sandwiches are 800-1000 calories. 😑

Lately I've been moving away from CICO but still, that's ridiculous right ??

Today we will see if Vuvuzela can win against Argentina. I really hope this time Venezuela actually goes to the World Cup, they have an actual good team this time.

Update: It's a draw, which I believe it's a good result for Venezuela. We may see Venezuela for the first time in the world cup.
