Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

If he was cishet, I wonder if he'd still be in office?

[–] very_well_lost@lemmy.world 10 points 16 hours ago

disgraced

Is it even possible to 'disgrace' a man this shameless?

Do people not go to jail anymore? If a normal person got caught with $200k from wire fraud they don't get asked nicely to give it back.

Have you tried being born rich and influential?

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 11 points 19 hours ago

Laws for thee but not me.

[–] Kraven_the_Hunter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

He doesn't look disgraced in the thumbnail.

[–] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 1 points 25 minutes ago

He's the epitomy of that German word that means "face that looks punchable"

[–] MutilationWave@lemmy.world 6 points 16 hours ago

He gets sentenced in February. Even if you're fake rich you get a different justice system apparently. But that's a perp walk I can't wait to peep.

There's zero checks on House candidates apparently...

Why don't Dems just pull reverse Sinemas and run as MAGA candidates in the primary then switch parties as soon as they're in office?

Like, sure it's shitty.

But we're fighting fascism, historically this would still be a very minor response compared to what's normally required.

If we're going all out, that's the type of "low road" shit we need, not attempts at edgy memes that almost undoubtedly pushed the youth away even though boomers thought they were hilarious.

As simple as it sounds, I think it's a lot more difficult for semi well adjusted people to be as forwardly shitty as Republicans even if just to win an election. All a Republican has to do to pull a fast one is shut up. One requires doing something bad while the other is quite literally doing nothing at all.

Why don’t Dems just pull reverse Sinemas and run as MAGA candidates in the primary then switch parties as soon as they’re in office?

Because they're not that strongly opposed to fascism, unlike you or me.

Ok, you run a fake maga campaign and pull the switcheroo. I'll give you a fucking standing ovation.

I thought Trump was going to make him the ambassador to Brazil but his check must have bounced.

[–] AdamEatsAss@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You get paid before you start?

[–] deegeese@sopuli.xyz 9 points 1 day ago

Trump works on contingency? No, money down.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 17 points 1 day ago (2 children)

There was a video on the old site about a week ago with a New Yorker throwing coffee on him and yelling insults. It was magnificent.

[–] homesnatch@lemm.ee 1 points 15 hours ago

That was staged by Santos...

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 6 points 1 day ago

Yeah I just watched that one. How very cash money of that dude.

[–] mercphilby@discuss.online 3 points 1 day ago (2 children)

You gotta hand it to the man. He saw an opportunity and he took it. He’s just bad at it. We can’t shame him, because we elected a better version of him.

[–] MutilationWave@lemmy.world 1 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

I'd say he was pretty fucking good at it getting elected to the House in New York. But he was sloppy as the blowjob he gave that Amish dingus for his inbred dogs.

[–] mercphilby@discuss.online 2 points 9 hours ago

Wow, that’s a mouthful. 😅

[–] orcrist@lemm.ee 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Of course we can shame him ... but he never cared about integrity.

[–] mercphilby@discuss.online 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It’s just business. 🤷‍♂️
