90 days. I guess it's ok to steal from the elderly in Ohio. I wonder if they gave him an ice cream cone on the way out of court.

Oh the poor old things. Imagine not getting a raise since 2009!! All the minimum wage workers can imagine just that, because minimum wage hasn't been raised since 2009, either. And a full time minimum wage job is going to provide a helluva less income than $174K.

I'm so tired of these privileged blowhards griping and complaining about how hard they have it while actively refusing to actually improve the lives of their constituents.

The same ones who voted twice for Donald Trump and who will vote for him again this November. Won't catch them using no fancy mustard.

If I counted correctly, there are 4 states that require paid leave. Another 6 where nothing is mentioned pertaining to paid/unpaid. And 22 states that don't mandate any leave at all...might be 23 since Kansas is just left blank.

In other states, you may or may not get leave (unpaid) depending how many employees there are at your job.

We really do suck in the US.

This vainglorious, fragile, lying and blasphemous joke of a human being is "going too far", in the words of a guy I saw today. However, he's still "on the Trump Train" and will be voting Trump in Nov.

There truly is none so blind as those who will not see.

It's probably not reported when Christians do good Christian things, because those things are actually "good decent things". You don't have to be a Christian to volunteer, help people, etc.

I see plenty of reporting about volunteers, maybe because I live in a hurricane state. Very rarely does the report mention religion, because people of all faiths and people with no faith at all are out there saving people and pets.

Burying one's head in the ground is a terrible response. If everyone were to do that, nothing will ever get better. We need to be aware of the things we can change and work towards that goal.

Also, living longer is not always better. Go visit a memory care facility or a person who has been brought back from the brink of death only to prolong his suffering.

Yep. She believes it all.

Well, there's a quote I need to remember.

Her lawyer, Traci Timko, said Watts sat for eight hours at Mercy Health-St. Joseph's awaiting care on the eve of her pregnancy reaching 22 weeks, before leaving without being treated.

Timko said hospital officials were deliberating over the legalities.

I've got my grandbabies here so I don't have the time to do a big search, but this article quotes her lawyer's statement that at least one visit in which she left AMA, she waited EIGHT hours for help, which she did not receive. (See first quote) I've read another article which I can try to find after the holidays which explained that in her two visits prior to the miscarriage, she was never admitted. She went to the hospital, explained what was going on, received one examination but was NOT admitted. She left after failing to be admitted, which was considered AMA. I'm sure they'd have liked her to sit there another day or two while they continued to fail to admit her, while deliberating over legalities. (See second sentence in the quote)

You're right, follow the money. My homeowner's rate doubled this year, but at least my insurance co. didn't pull out of my state. They know we are seeing climate change.

Wait, the lyrics of a song with a title that literally translates to "Oh, Christmas tree" originally had absolutely nothing to do with trees?? I'd ask how she wraps her mind around that dichotomy, but I know people who believe in conspiracies do not need proof nor logic to believe.

Good luck. I'll be entertaining my Trumpster QMIL, so I'll be fighting along with you to control myself.
