As if either of them would agree to a debate

Thanks for explaining that. I was trying to figure out if it was some weird reference to Wicked.

Is there any racist symbology behind the hand being feminine with black nail polish?

If the blackface Got milk photo shoot from America’s Next Top Model didn’t make you obsessed with milk, I don’t know what to tell you.

I’m in a similar boat. Congratulations on your weight loss! I had to have bariatric surgery to get my eating under control, so I know how immensely challenging it is.

Because of my surgery, it’s just not possible to be vegan. I have to get 60g of protein per day and can only fit about 1 cup of food in my stomach at a time. It’s just not possible to get that much protein in the amount of vegan food I can fit in my stomach.

I can have protein based milk alternatives like soy milk and I’m also a big fan of tofu, but meat is just a lot more protein dense. I’ve just accepted that I’m going to die if meat or vitamins become unavailable in the future.

Let me clarify, I didn’t mean that all Italians look Jewish. Just that when someone looks Jewish, but isn’t, they’re usually Italian.

Michael Imperioli and Lady Gaga are some other examples.

There’s definitely a stereotypical Jewish appearance. Most Jews in America are ashkenazi, which means they descend from central and Eastern Europe as opposed to Sephardic Jews, who descend from the Iberian peninsula and the Middle East.

Some examples of people who look like Jewish stereotypes:

Nick Kroll

Andy Samberg

Jenny Slate

Ilana Glazer

We share a lot of features with Italians, so there are a lot of people who are assumed to be Jewish but aren’t like Jason Biggs. If you’re in Long Island, you’re going to see a lot of both.

Hope this didn’t come off too race sciencey, I’m also mostly stereotypically Jewish looking. It feels like part of Jewish American culture is being excited when other people are Jewish and surprised when someone looks Jewish but isn’t.

It does not need to be this big.

Just give us New York, it’s already more than 5x as big as Israel and most of us are already there.

I don’t think there would be a lot of teenagers on any Lemmy instance.

And I’d imagine the ones who are lean pretty right and are more of the 4chan variety. You have to be really online to be on a website like this.

I know kids are more isolated than when I was in high school, but I would still think they’re mostly sticking to cool social media like TikTok and IG (and others that I’m too old to know of?)

Now we know what he did with all of the blackness that was removed from the black people who didn’t vote for him.

One of the downsides of having mandatory military service is that civilians aren’t exactly regular civilians. Even if they’re not serving now, most of the adult population in Israel has served in the army.

I don’t think that excuses sexual violence and executing children, but it definitely makes the context of civilians a lot murkier.

In Biden’s speech, he talked about how he spoke to Golda Meir when he was a senator and she told him “We have a secret weapon: we have no where else to go.”

They have a lot more places to go than the people of Palestine.

I’ve been seeing the opposite, at least in my circles.

On Saturday and Sunday, I really only saw support for Israel and a condemnation of Hamas except for on this website.

The combination of Israel resuming bombing Gaza, the report that Netanyahu had warning this was coming, and the blockade seemed to have reminded people of the need for Palestinian liberation.

Even the most pro-Israel people I know (in person) are lamenting that innocent Palestinians, especially children, are going to bear the brunt of the response and feel that Netanyahu provoked this.
