The developer has just announced that Relay will continue to function and will switch to a subscription model, so there probably won't be a Relay for Lemmy, unfortunately :(

Negative feedback is important.

Exactly. Without it, we'll have the same problem that YouTube has without dislikes, where a video with a hundred likes and a thousand dislikes appears as a generally liked video...

If you're on iOS, some great options are (in no particular order):

  • Memmy
  • Mlem
  • Liftoff

They have good hardware, but their software is—or, at least, feels—unreliable. With so many digital interactions virtually expecting to be done from a mobile device these days, the last thing I want is for the phone to glitch and give up on me when I need it. Yes, customization is nice, but these days I value reliability much more than that, even more than performance in some respects. Unfortunately, that mostly leaves Samsung and Apple as options for "reliable" software...

I've played the remastered campaign recently. I remember playing it through several times when it came out, and the remastered game today was just as enjoyable as the original back then. It always has been, and still is, my favourite CoD.

The Meta bullshit. I get it, Meta bad mmkay, but it's been on my front page every time I've come here for the past few days. We really can stop now...

I've seen developers of some other clients think that they wouldn't be able to work even with a paid subscription. Are there other examples apart from Infinity of clients that will remain available with a subscription?

Thanks for the detailed post.

I encourage those of you who use your password manager for 2FA to consider that by having your second factor together with the password, they can both become compromised at the same time. Storing your second factor separately, e.g. using a different app with a different password, could help if your password manager database ever gets compromised, because then the attackers would only have access to your password, not your 2FA codes too.

I’ve had great experience with AMD GPUs on Wayland. Unless you run into specific issues, I don’t see a downside of running Wayland. With NVIDIA, chances are you will run into issues very quickly, unfortunately…

Looks great! I'm going to try it out soon!

One thing to note: Play Protect currently doesn't like your app and shows a warning when trying to install it. This might put off some users.

And a question: Do you have any plans to support multiple severs?

Thanks for your work!

See this post: https://lemmy.world/post/77145

You remove the instance's domain name from the URL, the same way you remove reddit.com when linking to subreddits. You then append it at the end of the URL with an @. For example, https://lemmy.ml/c/asklemmy --> /c/asklemmy@lemmy.ml

EDIT: Starting with Lemmy 0.18.0, you won't need to do this manually anymore!

Tailscale and Netmaker use wireguard under the hood, so as long as you manage to establish the connections, they should be just as fast! If you need to use relaying, however, that will introduce additional overhead.
