Idk what libs expect resistance to look like. I'm not saying I'm in favour of killing people, I'm just saying if you are a privileged state employee and the state you work for is doing evil shit and you don't want to be a target it's kinda easy to quit your job.

It's actually difficult to reliably OD. Not that I would recommend suicide but I would especially not recommend routes with a good chance of leaving you alive with organ, inc brain, damage.

Don't intentionally OD.

CW: Discussion of personal experience of an OD attempt

My ex, who is the smartest guy I've ever known tried to OD. He went very hard, without details there were layers. He was found and lived, and very luckily for him had only minor brain injury and somewhat serious lung damage.

The experience was traumatic as fuck for him and everyone who was there and his entire family.

I say this as like, if a determined person who is medically educated and thinks they have a foolproof plan they've planned for months can fuck up and live (yay!) then anyone can. Don't OD, it's not a painless way out.

Implying any of us go outside

I've finally got my ultra minimalist system set up and I am going to bask in it's soothing glow.

Ah yes, advocating for scientifically supported vegan cat food is extremism that needs admin intervention but they'll shelter misanthropic death cults.

How's that marketplace of ideas working?

Shit happens, nobody cares enough about work to remember this except as just another "haha technology amirite" story in a few months.

Learn a lesson about having a backup plan for presentations and move on. She'll be right.

Forgive my ignorance but does this really need spelling out? Don't all states do this? Like that specific scenario is a bit a silly but in times of crisis or when interests conflict governments always without crap from rivals. Isn't there specifically a block trying to stop BRICS getting their hands on magical machine god apotheosising chips?

Seems like the nats want to bend them over the barrel and force them to embrace bribes for the regions + insane culture war stuff and the libs are like "we're 19 votes behind in our most secure seat in histo wtf are you doing?"

But since neither party can hold power without the other, and the nats play so well with morons voting against their own interests, I think there will be enormous pressure for 'moderate' libs remaining to stfu and fall in line.

It would be extremely funny if the party splintered and the right wing vote got split between the fundies and the bougies.

I just want proportional representation so my fantasy daydreams about having an actual democracy one day can seem even slightly plausible.

Extremely funny news from Australia. In the wake of a historical loss the coalition that makes up the current conservative opposition has (temporarily) dissolved^[https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2025/may/20/nationals-leaving-split-coalition-liberal-party-australian-election]. This has happened in the wake of the right wing liberal party being unwilling to commit to policies that fucked them, which play well with reactionary elements in the regions.

They will likely rejoin together once it is politically advantageous, having largely been together for the better part of a century, but currently this means the center right welfare state labor party has basically no resistance except the leftish greens party to passing its bills. Severely diminishing the electoral power of the far right for the forseeable future.

Whether the liberals will embrace the trumpism that cost them the election, hemorrhaging the rest of their moderates, or try and tac towards the bourgeois policies of the so called "teal" (blue + green, environmental policies) independents that have been eating their lunch in the wealthy liberal heartland remains to be seen. My money is on the former because the moderate faction lost most of their seats and they've but a numerology^[https://www.crikey.com.au/2025/05/08/sussan-ley-liberal-leadership-numerology-angus-taylor/] donothing clown in charge as a seat warmer while the factions rally.^[footnotes are the opium of the leftist]

Hexbear in a nutshell

[–] insurgentrat@hexbear.net 7 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Yeah man idk if we should be copying the behaviours of Japanese student cults that lead to them progressively murdering themselves off.

A lot of hexbear skews young, if there's a time in your life you'll enjoy making grand declarations and sweeping generalisations it's when young.

I propose a hexbear tradition of the great eye. Every day one user is randomly selected by the gaze, each other user sees one of their posts at the top page and has to rate it ideological pure or unserious liberalism.

If the user is not rated at least 2/3 pure their name is revealed and they are banned, if the user is rated 90% pure they get the crown of the 1 true leftist until someone else replaces them.
