I'm with you. It definitely didn't need to reference the older movies as much, deepfake Ian Holm was totally unnecessary, but for being a horror thriller I thought it kept up the tension pretty well. Not exactly high art, but definitely a good popcorn movie.

The most recent Hitman games are best in class. Three games worth of levels, rogue-like mode to string them together randomly with random objectives if doing the story again isn't your thing.

I'm excited to see what IO does with the James Bond franchise too. Even if it's just a reskinned Hitman, it'd be worth it.

Somebody does. Some Milton somewhere in the company will complain vehemently if anything is wrong and will possibly die if it doesn't show up.

Multiple times in my corpo experience I've assumed everyone ignored this sort of internal communique and have had people look at me as if I was skipping a message from God.

I agree. LD is great, but it's also feeling like the story is nearing a logical endpoint. The main cast has already ranked up and learned to deal with their issues. It's only a matter of time before they're split up and I'd rather have the show deal with that directly and end conclusively while it's still a great show, than to last another 10 seasons.

That trackpad was a game changer for playing KB+M games with a controller, but to be honest sometimes I really miss the right joystick. The trackpad can fake it, but it's not the same.

If they ever do another standalone controller I'd want it to be like a screen-less Deck. Both joysticks and trackpads and a couple more grips.

I love Lower Decks... But I'm also sorta okay with it ending after another season. The main characters are really not even lower deckers anymore and it would make sense for them to start going their separate ways... The trajectory for almost every ensign friend group I'd bet.

That said, if there isn't an animated follow up in the pipe that at least lets us check in on the LDers from a different POV, I'd be sad. Just give Mike McMahan another show and see what happens.

I think it's a stretch to interpret it as petty when it probably just gave Trip a bit of focus and let his 8 year old nephew shout like "that's my uncle!" or something. Real life astronauts get asked these questions all the time and they're practically deified in our culture.

Yep, Biden is basically riding Obama's coattails even today as President and everyone just overlooks that he was the racist centrist there to placate the "moderates"

This better not awaken anything in me...

That's not surprising. Once you get familiar with how shallow and rigged the system is, you either exploit it, or you fight it. There are people out there that did all of that too... And then decided to go into finance.

That's a fun thought experiment. Weird to think about Kirk's lines delivered in Shakespearean actor English instead of his iconic halting delivery.

Surprised to see the opinions on V/VI not being as good. I've played every interation of this game and they all brought something to the table. VI and the districting gameplay added a lot to the game. One unit per tile in V also made combat more tactical than doom stacking around.

The big thing I'd like in a new one is less cheaty AI. It's just so boring that winning on Deity is basically exploiting AI foibles instead of... you know, building a stronger nation on an even keel. At the highest difficulty AI should get no bonuses but still be really good at playing the game.
