I'm gonna have a drink tonight for this. Here's to making it. The best feeling you can have as a child is hearing from your parents when you've become an adult that they're proud of who you have become.

That at 47 the hardest thing in life was keeping relationships. Everything else is a cakewalk.

Only my daughter goes to fireworks out of all my kids. I always make sure to remind her and everyone else we are with that even though they are enjoyable they distress the fuck out of wildlife and result in many deaths. Yes, they're cool AF but think if aliens came here tomorrow. It's no different than us going WTF at people firing AKs into the sky at a wedding. Only difference is the pretty colours and the method of firing. We are such a destructive species.

I'm a parent. To me it's the same either way. Open dialogue and understanding. You can't shake hands with a closed fist.

Luckily my parents and kids are not insane so haven't had to deal much with this but as an example when Andrew Tate came up in discussion with my kids I explained how he's a disgusting human being and how to judge people through a multitude of criteria such as who is promoting them, what are their interests, who are associated with them, what do they represent, etc.

As a general rule assholes tend to support asshole ideas and surround themselves with other assholes.

Have you tried giving instructions? My experience is everyone is different and some people need to be told what to do. Is that a fit for you? Maybe not then move on.

If you do promise to be as incredulous as I was when he gave me the ticket. Like man don't you have better shit to be doing? Let's ignore the fact he thankfully didn't see me kicking rear view mirrors a couple of blocks previous because they were parked in the bike lane.

Jesus Christ I was an ornary youth lol

I was drunk and high out of my gourd one night biking home along Bloor Street and got a ticket for speeding lol. This was maybe 2004. I have thankfully matured since then.

To quote Sage Francis.

"No man is an island, except island man. He's a rock star!"

We will get there I promise. Unfortunately it's going to be painful though. The wheat still has the be separated from the chaff. As a species our old habits need to die. Elon represents those old habits of everything bad in humanity.

Should be self-explanatory. They essentially have all the same apps as a phone now.

I won't ever not think this.

For any android users like myself you may have been using Swish which was made by a reddit user but since the API bullshit the app still works for games but there's no live/post game thread access. I just submitted a request to see if we can get it integrated with Lemmy :)

Looking to watch some raptors or anyone else

User accounts are fragmented and just because you signed on at lemmy.world doesn't mean your account exists on lemmy.ca.

https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/1985

Communities are fragmented and /c/games on lemmy.world is completely different than the one on lemmy.ml with its own users, set of posts, etc.

Lemmy does not currently allow for instance or user migration.

https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/3057

Nor does it allow for shared communities (ie the aforementioned /c/games is unified across multiple instances)

https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/3100

We are in the early days. If you're eager feel free to join in the development on these any many other core issues. There's real potential here.
