STATI UNITI. La crociata di Trump contro i parchi nazionali e gli animali a rischio

I remembered when I was a kid trying to learn to hold a pen "properly" (as everyone do) I couldn't manage to do it and was holding it in my own way. Parents and teachers were trying to teach me how to hold it "properly" but it just didn't work out, I sticked to the way it was comfortable to me. The common way of holding it wasn't understandable to me and I just could not do it no matter how much I tried. Eventually adults gave up and let me be, except few more poor attempts from random teachers in school to re-teach me. I ended up with my own unique method of holding the pen and being asked from every person see my grip "why you are holding pen like that?". My handwriting wasn't very good, in school classes I would get lower grades because of it. Later as a teenager when I was "randomly" (you know) interested in calligraphy I have mastered my handwriting to a level none of those adults could ever imagine I would do, but still using the same grip I learned as a child and until now. Now when realizing myself autistic after 20+ years I thought, was my inability to learn to hold a pen in common way (as taught) a clear sign of being autistic? What is your experience with learning to hold a pen?

The legal licensing body said in a news release Monday that it will ask the California Supreme Court to adjust test scores for those who took its February bar exam.

“The debacle that was the February 2025 bar exam is worse than we imagined,” Mary Basick, assistant dean of academic skills at the University of California, Irvine, Law School, told the Los Angeles Times. “I’m almost speechless. Having the questions drafted by non-lawyers using artificial intelligence is just unbelievable.”

In February, the new exam led to complaints after many test-takers were unable to complete their bar exams. The online testing platforms repeatedly crashed before some applicants even started. Others struggled to finish and save essays, experienced screen lags and error messages and could not copy and paste text, the Times reported earlier.

An administrative court on Wednesday overturned France's decision to cut government funding to the country's biggest Muslim high school in 2023, in what rights groups say is part of a wider crackdown on Muslim schools.

Private school Averroes, the first Muslim high school to open in mainland France in 2003 in the northern city of Lille, had 800 pupils in 2023 and had been under contract with the state since 2008. Pupils follow the regular French curriculum, and are also offered religion classes.

Hello, I am looking for help with some small issues I've been having with gnome (bazzite), mostly annoyances. Their discord is okay ish as a resource but takes a long time to get replies to specific issues, especially when they are more generally Linux questions and not specific to bazzite. So here goes:

I have 3 drives installed, one of them an old HDD for media storage. During the bazzite setup I selected all of them to be included since was about to reinstall the OS (and had them retroactively mounted in the old install and figured they might be treated more natively this way in the new installation).

Well the plan worked too well, and I now have no discernible drives I can locate individually outside the drive manager app, which doesn't really bother me beyond not knowing if the system will use it inefficiently (I.e store things aside from data and media on the slow HDD). Is there a way to configure how it will use the drives?

Second, I was given a pre-made admin account during setup. I really want to not have to log in with a password on each boot, is it possible to skip (only) that somehow and auto log in? I still like the password for admin level privileges.

And last, part of the reason for my reinstallation was constant issues with the stupid keyring app (seahorse?). Most of the time it would prompt me on boot, when my VPN app would try to retrieve its credentials, to set up a new keyring for it despite there being literally dozens of keyrings from its previous boots with the needed info, all freely accessible.

I have so far begrudgingly refrained from installing the VPN again because I want to find a solution for this first; and discovered that i can also set up a VPN connection directly in the OS. However from what I can tell this would prevent me from switching locations / slow servers easily, is there an alternative I am missing such as a different keyring app I could install or a function in Linux to change servers effectively (with load info and preferably without having to set up vpns manually for all the hundreds of possible servers I can choose from my VPN provider)?

Thank you for reading the wall of text this has become 👀

This is the first part of a three-part series about age verification in the European Union. In this blog post, we give an overview of the political debate around age verification and explore the age verification proposal introduced by the European Commission, based on digital identities. Part two takes a closer look at the European Commission’s age verification app, and part three explores measures to keep all users safe that do not require age checks.

VA Secretary Doug Collins this week sent a rare department-wide email requesting employees to report any allegations of “anti-Christian discrimination” among their colleagues. The email, which was reviewed by The Associated Press, asks for “names, dates, and locations” of any alleged incidents to be reported to an internal email address. The Guardian first reported the email.

President Donald Trump has launched a government-wide task force aimed at rooting out any bias against Christians, who are by far the largest faith group in the United States and hold significant political power. The two-year task force, chaired by Attorney General Pam Bondi and composed of Cabinet and other government representatives, is supposed to “identify any unlawful anti-Christian” actions under the Biden administration, change any objectionable policies and recommend steps to rectify any past failures.

Serbia’s government has restricted the time academics can spend on research to just five hours each week. The rule has been widely criticised by the country’s research community, which is now seeking to overturn it through the courts.

‘Pure retaliation’

Many think the regulation has been made to punish university staff who have been supportive of students’ protests against corruption. Those protests began in November, having initially been triggered by an incident in which a train station roof collapsed and killed 15 people.

Justice Department attorney Mary Larakers made the argument in a court document filed Wednesday, suggesting that U.S. District Judge Brian E. Murphy’s order wasn’t violated because the Defense Department isn’t a defendant in the lawsuit.

Murphy’s order, first issued March 28, blocked the Trump administration from deporting people who have exhausted legal appeals to countries other than their country of origin unless they are told of their destination and given a chance to object if they fear they will face torture or death there.
