I always wonder if these demagogues believe what they say.
I think they find the truth irrelevant. Their goal is to destroy people's opinion of China, and they feel that anything they can say to do that is justifiable.
In the case of the tldr guys, they probably do believe in what they say. They simply don't spend nearly enough time researching topics from a broad enough perspective, and often lack the expertise needed to make insightful judgments.
It's not much better than having a crew of amateurs goggling things on Wikipedia. They just have a high production quality.
