Disclaimer: I am not pro-Russia just because I am not pro-Ukraine. To me this is a war between NATO imperialists/Ukrainian Nazis and a modern Capitalist Russian oligarchy. There is no good side in this war.
That being said, seeing support for Ukraine from people who didn't even know the country existed a couple of years ago always makes me roll my eyes. It comes across as shallow virtue signalling (even though I hate that term).
Compare it to people who support Palestine. People who support Palestine understand the history of that conflict and that it goes back to many many years of genocide on Israel's part.
People who support Ukraine typically know nothing of the history of the region, it's support for Nazis, it's pogroms, etc.
Even worse, sometimes they do know, they just don't care. 
The best part of when these people still think Russia communist. So crazy how many people have reverted to the same 50s' red scare hysteria that people used to make fun of.
Liberal support for Ukraine is so fucking cringe. The ILLEGAL invasion of Ukraine by NEO FASCIST OLIGARCH Putin is the worst thing since the Holocaust, but they don’t give a single fuck about Gaza, or the disgusting war on reproductive rights being waged at home.
They also don't care about capitalist restoration in Ukraine leading to an increasingly violent ethnic cleansing, which was what finally led to the Russian intervention in Ukraine.
Or the american-backed Neo-Nazi maidan coup taking power after burning trade unionists alive in 2014, backed by Biden, Obama and Nuland.

Maybe stop throwing coups? Never can get a Liberal to admit that the US still throws coups all the time and that's a bad thing.
They don't even care about the Holocaust. If they did, they'd know Ukrainian minorities (Jews and Roma specifically) were wiped out hundreds at a time by the thousands. It was only the combined effort of the entire USSR that put a stop to it, which includes Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Georgia, and so on.
If the Soviet Union hadn't collapsed, shock therapy hadn't been inflicted, or capitalists taking control of either country, this war wouldn't be happening.
