this country is so fucked
Everything good is capitalism and everything bad is socialism. Socialism has never worked and capitalism can not fail, it can only be failed.
Is that the same comment that blames the city for making downtown more walkable too?
yes siree it is
Walkable implies people living there and there's like no one on the streets
The streets were empty back from 2007 to 2019 and it was pretty clear the whole time that it wasn't sustainable, but back then the bars and clubs were blamed
Just wait until they see China and find out it's communist building real socialism
Edit: All seriousness, though, it does suck. We've got quite the fight on our hands here, don't we.
Best we can currently do is continue organizing and increasing political, historical and cultural literacy wherever possible.
If Americans don't like communist California and New York, they can move!
It's not just your country, this kind of understanding of politics infects the entire Western world, no doubt thanks to the cold war, and especially modern social media that spreads brainworms.
