A good look at what's happening at the end of the road in capitalism. Without workers who have disposable income, there's nothing to sell to anyone anymore. Ruin of the working class results in the common ruin of all classes.

Have a look at this guy's channel, if you're curious to see more. There's more than just this one area. Everywhere is just rotting away.

Everything good is capitalism and everything bad is socialism. Socialism has never worked and capitalism can not fail, it can only be failed. galaxy-brain

Is that the same comment that blames the city for making downtown more walkable too?

[–] logflume@hexbear.net 14 points 2 years ago

yes siree it is

[–] SuperZutsuki@hexbear.net 9 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Walkable implies people living there and there's like no one on the streets

[–] davi@hexbear.net 6 points 2 years ago

The streets were empty back from 2007 to 2019 and it was pretty clear the whole time that it wasn't sustainable, but back then the bars and clubs were blamed

The top comment blames socialism. This country is so fucked sicko-wistful

Just wait until they see China and find out it's communist building real socialism sicko-flipped

Edit: All seriousness, though, it does suck. We've got quite the fight on our hands here, don't we.

Best we can currently do is continue organizing and increasing political, historical and cultural literacy wherever possible.

If Americans don't like communist California and New York, they can move!

It's not just your country, this kind of understanding of politics infects the entire Western world, no doubt thanks to the cold war, and especially modern social media that spreads brainworms.

If capitalists were job creators then you'd think they would eventually create some better fucking jobs.

[–] sicklemode@hexbear.net 17 points 2 years ago

porky-happy - Better jobs would affect working people positively, which would affect my profit ambitions negatively. That's an interesting idea, so it's against the rules.

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 6 points 2 years ago

Capitalists only create jobs. The lazy, ungrateful "workers" lose them. It's not the capitalists' fault.

Having no suburban-tier treats is like having communism, so this must be communism's fault. marx-joker
