Two person board games? (hexbear.net)

My partner and I do a lot of board games together, and I have been looking for a 2 person game we can do together. I wanted to get it for them for the holiday present season. We prefer co op games but enjoy competitive games too if it's lightly competitive (like you can get points but can't easily take points from the other). Any suggestions for board or card games that you enjoy?

If you like trick taking games check out Fox in the Forest. There is a competitive and a co-op version too.

  • Mantis Falls - co-op/competative hybrid
  • Lucidity: dice collecting - competative
  • Rummikub: Rummy but with domino/tiles - competative
  • Patchwork: do you like tetris? - competative
  • Codenames Duet: Guess who but words - co-op(the original is competitive and does do 2 player 2 Aeon's End: deckbuilding boss battle - co-op
